CoolLevelUp  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.1
by: Mrcoolmods, humfras

Introduction
Bored of the old, yellow, spiritless system message you get each time you Level Up ?
This mod could be the solution, as it replaces the level up system message by a complete Level Up animation
with music and sound displaying what stats you have gained and the new skills you can now learn from your class trainer.
The mod is compatible with English and French clients. Other clients will use the English localization.

Features
* Removes Level Up system message.
* Triggers a complete animation whenever you Level Up, showing the stats gained and the new skills available to train.

Usage instructions
* Install the mod the same way most other mods are installed.
* Enable the mod in the character screen for the characters you want (or all of them !).
* Enjoy.

Warning
This is purely a cosmetic Addon, it does not add any tools or whatever (with the exception, maybe, of the new skills indicator),
it's just for fun, so do not start arguing it has no use, because I didn't make it for that.

Copyright info
* The animation includes musics from Chrono Cross, Fire Emblem 9 and Suikoden V,
whose respective copyrights are owned by Squaresoft (now Square-Enix), Intelligent Systems and Konami.

Thanks for the update! I had tried to manually update it myself and got it at least semi-functional, but you seem to have patched up trainer.lua to correctly show all the spells, even some that were slipping through the cracks after some of the code I tried.

This is an awesome addon that is criminally underrated these days. Thanks dude!

CLU should work fine with the 4.1 patch. Just enable loading out-dated AddOns.

I was wondering if it's possible to move the frame when it comes up. I have my UI modded and it kinda overlaps my chat frame a bit.
Otherwise, great mod

OK, I checked the rogue DB spell-by-spell with a DB updated from a pre Cataclysm version to 4.0.6 with a friends lvl28 gnome rogue.
All spells are present and saved correctly. The only missing spells are the ones that were learnable before and have their required player level increased with Cataclysm.
(e.g. Recuperate and Parry can now be learned at level 12 and the rogue do not learned them yet so they are in the DB)

So this was fine overall.

Where exactly is the data for the skill list kept? Or does it somehow pull from the game client?

Edit: Okay, found the info, I'm wondering if it's the fact that the game no longer has ranks for skills, and the addon still pulls for rank information in the trainer.lua script.
CoolLevelUp creates its DB on the first vendor visit.

The fact that some spells are missing can have various reasons:
- CLU did not get all spells correct
- Spells changed since the last DB creation

I will take a look into it as soon as possible.

copyrighted music

Just a heads up so you don't get sued ... i would recommend removing copyrighted music from your mod and either provide information on how to put in personalized music instead and leave it up the end user to add the music. distribution of copyrighted works is against the law unless you have written permission from the copyrights holder - just happen to know this because a friend of mine got into a legal battle for another mod that did similar things with some music that was copyrighted -

hope this gets to you before an issue arises from your mod.

I just wanted to say thanks for this neat little mod. It seems like a silly thing but level ups feel unique and neat again instead of rote. Cheers!

Will fix the scaling in next release.
The Spell font will be changed, too.
The stat box will stay the same because of the nostalgic reference.

I'll drop something in your tipjar after my next paycheck for your efforts ;-*
