HealAssign  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.20
by: Greltok [More]

HealAssign is a mod for assigning healing during raids. All healers running the mod will automatically have a window showing unit bars for their assignments.

Anyone in the raid who is running HealAssign is free to assign or unassign himself/herself. To assign or unassign others, Assistant or Leader is required.

There is no graphical UI for assigning yet - it is command line only.

/ha <command> <arg1> <arg2> <arg3> <...>

Names do not have to be complete - an unambiguous fragment from the start of the name will suffice.

In addition to names for assignments, the following target keywords are supported (unambiguous fragments will suffice):

[Warriors], [Rogues], [Hunters], [Mages], [Warlocks], [Druids], [Priests], [Shaman], [Paladins], [DeathKnights], [Monks]
[Group1] or [1], [Group2] or [2], [Group3] or [3], [Group4] or [4], [Group5] or [5], [Group6] or [6], [Group7] or [7], [Group8] or [8]
[Tanks], [Healers], [Ranged], [Melee]

Please see the ReadMe file for a complete command list.

Great mod, I would however love a solution for this problem:

Most fights in Sunwell have multiple phases, and I expect encounters in Wrath to be similar.

Is there any way to make multiple assignments for a single fight? Or any way to make assignments "freeform text"? Would probably be much easier to implement and still do the job just fine.

Or maybe things like comments appended to targets? The comments could (optional of course) be provided with the assignments, maybe something like:

/ha assign Healername Target1 [#Phase1] Target2 Target3

I realise I could just make all the assignments combined and then let my healers find out which of their assignments is active right now, but from my experience that's actually worse than assigning them manually - as I can split the phases up instead of posting a confusing wall of text that won't work with further explanation.

Again, thanks and you are amazing for making this great flexible mod. I did copy and paste the text from the readme file over from word pad to MS Word and it was quite a bit easier to read. I will be really excited to try it out in SSC tomorrow instead of the poor souls in AV I have been experimenting on all day, LOL

Certainly. If your healer channel is "guildhealers", then try this:
/ha setchannel guildhealers
/ha list channel

If you'd rather list to the raid, use:
/ha list raid

To see the assignments in your console, use:
/ha list

You can also use listtargets to see the assignments by targets instead. For example:
/ha listtargets

In the assignments box it says "This area not yet implemented"
The "This area not yet implemented" refers to the graphical UI for assigning. Command line works fine.

I did read the read me file and the assignments are working great, but when the readme file get to the part about listing and posting it gets a little off and reads like this -
Hm. The formatting in the ReadMe must be off. I'm on a Macintosh, so my line endings are different. I thought I changed the formatting to Windows before uploading...

You could always try viewing it in a text editor that supports alternate line endings.

Can I post in our healing channel or raid chat like a macro the people who are assigned to specific targets? In the assignments box it says "This area not yet implemented" I did read the read me file and the assignments are working great, but when the readme file get to the part about listing and posting it gets a little off and reads like this -

clearClears all healing assignments. Requires Assistant or Leader.syncIf you are the server, sends a full sync.If you are not the server, requests a full sync.listLists all healing assignments to the console by healerraidLists all healing assignments to the raid by healer.Requires Assistant or Leader.channelLists all healing assignments to the channel by healer.Requires Assistant or Leader.whisperWhispers to each healer their assignments.Requires Assistant or Leader.listtargetsLists all healing assignments to the console by target.raidlists all healing assignments to the raid by target.
Requires Assistant or Leader.channelLists all healing assignments to the channel by target.
Requires Assistant or Leader.setchannelSets the channel for the command "list channel".

So when you read this just think, silly stupid girl and humor my naiviaty and tell me how to read this. There is nothing worse then not being able to read computer speak to make you feel stupid. I am guessing I type in /ha list to get it to post a list, but I am not sure how to get it to post in /5 which is my healing channel. Sorry, I really am mod retarded, my computer has said the word 'fatality" to me when I log on for the past year and for the life of me I can't get it to stop, even after uninstalling everything and reinstalling, FATAILTY it screams at me every time wow opens. LOL, maybe it is a high power trying to tell me something.

The "smaller box heal assign box" (assignments window) appears only when you have assignments, which it sounds like you're having trouble with.

From your example above, it looks like you're putting your name in angle brackets <>, which is incorrect. The documentation shows the angle brackets to indicate that it's an argument. If we assume that your main tank has the name "Maintank", try this:
/ha assign spiritheals maintank

Since the mod will expand name fragments, you might find this more convenient:
/ha assign spi mai

Or if you want to watch all warriors:
/ha assign spi [warr

Or group 1:
/ha assign spi [1

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried grid, I do not like it for parties. What I am looking for is frames like yours or Healbot without all the added functionality. I am using the MazzleUI which makes it hard to heal and I wanted some lightweight party frames.

Thanks again.

No, it won't work in a non-raid party. This mod is designed for healing assigment setup in raids. For 5 man parties, dedicated assignments are rarely required. If you're looking for party frames, then I'm fond of Grid.

Absolutely. I'm a huge fan of Clique myself.

Couple of questions-
  1. Will this mode display party members in a party or is it raid only?
  2. Do the frames support click-casting with Clique?

Thanks for the info. Currently using HealBot and it is overkill for my needs - I simply need small health bars in a group for healing parties.
