Reputation Bars  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8.0.0
by: PontusM, mjumnito

DESCRIPTION

Track your reputation with some glorious bars!

Reputation Bars is a modular addon that lets you watch one or more faction standings, i.e. the amount of reputation you have with them. It can be used to track specific factions or automatically track the ones you gain rep with. It is especially useful for those with custom UIs that no longer have the default Blizzard rep bar available.

You can use this while leveling to see your reputation bar or simply as a way to show you how much you have left for various factions as you grind your way to exalted...

FEATURES
* WatchBar module replaces the default Blizzard reputation watch bar.
* WatchBar tracks the currently active faction (similar to Blizzards built in bar).
* WatchBar can automatically switch the active faction to the one you gain reputation with.
* AutoBars module that automatically tracks recently gained reputation.
* StaticBars module to track specific factions that you specify.
* Automatically fadeout bars when no reputation has been gained for a while to avoid cluttering your UI.
* All bars can be customized in order to fit most UI configurations (supports SharedMedia for a larger variety of fonts and bar textures).
* Simply disable any modules you don't need through the configuration UI.

I recommend that you also install the SharedMedia addon for a larger variety of fonts and bar textures.

CONFIGURATION

Configuration is done using the Blizzard addon configuration interface. You can right click on the title bar to open it, or use the slash command /rptb.

Re: Guild Rep... minor issue

If you have another rep showing in the static bar then a simple mouseover will show the guild rep... if there is no other bar however you can't seem to make it show! I'm sure its something small... I might peek in the code and see if I can identify it myself.
Ok, I think I have an idea why that might occur. I'll fix it for next release.

Yes, this would be a great feature. You're not the first one to ask for it so I have it on my list. Just a matter of when I get the time to do it...

I wonder, is it possible to make a options for this to show the Rep gained per sessions?

Love how it shows how much Rep was gained per quest/kill, would be nice if there was an option to show tallied/total Rep earned.

Thanks~

It already shows the rep gained per session. If you kill a mob worth 100 xp it says +100. If you kill another worth 100 xp it shows +200...

Autobar problem

Autobars are not showing up for my character named "Strömm" Could this be due to the use of foreign character in name? They work fine for all my other alts, but on Strömm the test bars wont even show. I am puzzled.

Exclamation Bug With Autoswitch

Whenever I gain guild reputation, the autoswitch function changes the reputation bar to say "Guild" with an empty bar stating 0/3000 instead of my guild name and my current rep.

I have my guild rep set as a static watch anyhow just because of this.

It isn't just this reputation addon that has this problem either, all of the ones that autoswitch rep have the same issue.

I reverted back to 1.1.9 and it seemed to fix my problem. Seems Dwarf rep got broken somewhere between that version and current.

My static bars are gone! No factions are even listed under the faction tab. I have not changed a thing. My alt rep bars are working fine but on my main the static bar has no way for me to select the factions i was previously monitoring. I love this addon plz help.

Guild Rep patch for 4.1

For those that have use teh Guild rep bars: yup, it wasn't showing correctly. Blizzard changed the reputation from "Guild Reputation" to just "Guild", breaking the guild rep detection code.

The good news is that detection is now a bit more reliable than before 4.1. It seems to work just fine as well in 4.2, so I'm sending a diff for it to PontusM via PM. Hopefully it won't need much time to be released.

A new version is coming up as soon as I have tested it a bit more. Probably this weekend. I haven't been playing actively lately so I'm finding it a bit hard to motivate myself to work on it...

@Dridzt
Ooh! Nice! I didn't know about the global strings, but that's excellent. Is there any place these global strings have been collected and documented?

The original guild detection code is indeed a bit convoluted, but mainly due to being complete and avoiding errors. Performance-wise it's pretty effective: even if the loop is reached due to "Guild" not being translated, it should only be run twice and then bail out with a result. Still, your version is much leaner

Thanks for the feedback Dridzt! That worked like a charm. I already tested it, and will release a new version soon.
