Neuron  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.4.18
by: Soyier, Maul

Neuron development is on an indefinite hiatus upon the launch of WoW 10.0. If you are interested in helping with development efforts to push the project forward into Dragonflight, please reach out to Soyier.

Introduction:
Neuron is a full featured action Bar addon for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Important Note: Neuron tentatively works with World of Warcraft: Classic and The Burning Crusade: Classic, but none of our developers actively play Classic, so support and bug fixes are offered without any guarantee. Realistically, many bugs in Classic require max level characters to debug, and none of us have any such characters. Outside help with Classic is always welcome!

Example:

Theme Support:
Neuron inherits all theming courtesy of the Masque addon. Neuron has full Masque compatibility, and the theming options found in Masque are quite in-depth, not to mention the robust portfolio of skins made to support Masque. In short, you can make your bars look any way you like!

Features:
  • Neuron features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, last but not least, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Neuron contains a graphical bar editor that allows for nearly endless customization to bar shape, size, orientation, and much more! Further, Neuron has neither the limitations on max number of bars nor on the max number of buttons per bar, as you might find in addons such as Bartender4 or Dominoes.

Disclaimer:

Neuron is a fork of the amazing Ion Action Bars addon started by Connor Chenoweth aka Maul, for World of Warcraft Legion and onwards. All credit for the bulk of this addon should go to him accordingly, along with SLOKnightFall for his maintainership throughout the years. I, Soyier, take no credit for the idea or implementation of this addon prior to my adoption of the code in the Fall quarter of 2017.

I've tried to set it up doing a trillion different combinations of bar states and visiibility toggles and it's impossible to make it work as intented. I've checked the three options of bar states (override, possess and vehicle) and then either it is shown all the time (all visibility options checked) or never (any visibility option uncheked, whichever it is, even the not fishing option causes it to not be shown). If I'm in vehicle or possessed the bar shows the proper abilities, but I cannot make it show when in these conditions and disappear when not.

How can I solve this? Thanks
I just verified this to work, if you have a bar and you uncheck the "no vehicle", "no possess" and "no override" options, and then /reload (sadly I need to fix this but for now it only takes into effect after the first /reload), the bar should only show during those states explicitly.

Well, I figured it out. Not sure where the conflict is, but it seems that there's a conflict somewhere with the Chatter add-on. Guess I look for a new way to manage my chat boxes, because I definitely need Neuron. At any rate, seems like all is good now!
Haha that's strange. I've never heard of chatter. I wonder how chatter could have been affecting Druid form transitions... That seems quite odd.

Nice detective work!
Not adding anything useful here but I run Chatter and haven't run into this issue with my druid, at least in terms of shapeshift bars. As of a few days ago they seemed to be working as usual.

Good to hear, that was on my to-report list that I hadn't gotten around to yet. Something seems to have re-broken the GCD sweep, though, at least for my pally (the only toon I've done anything with since the latest release). Reporting that and a few other things shortly.

Believe me, if I knew, I'd tell ya. But as soon as I turned it off, the key issue disappeared.

You should try Prat. I used to use Chatter as well (never had any conflicts) but found Prat to offer a bit more options.

Re: Re: Main Action Bar Disappearing

That's odd... My main is a druid and it works fine for me. Did it used to work and now it isn't? This may be a stupid question, but for your different form states, did you put abilities on these bars? The different states are effectively fresh bars that need to be filled with abilities

Ok a new release is coming out that fixes all the issues reported below. For now I'm not getting rid of the aura code, and I did tuck away the event calls behind the aura_ind flag, so there should be no performance hit for people not using the aura boarder setting.

I'd still like to fix the aura countdown code, but I seriously cannot figure it out. It's one of the more bizarre things I've ever worked with. It should be working, but it inexplicably isn't.

Oh and an explanation for why the issues with charges/binds not showing happened was due to a framelevel mismatch. those elements were showing behind the icon instead of in front. I didn't catch it because I use Masque and masque will apply its own framelevel to those elements based on the theme, so those issues were only visible to people using the stock theme

In terms of duration/cooldown/aura, I do have separate tracking via TMW but I use that info on the bars a lot as well. I've definitely noticed the absence of the durations on buttons, especially since I don't have every single duration tracked in TMW (I don't track poison durations on my rogue, for instance, I only track missing poison). I've always used the buttons for that info in conjunction with TMW.

Setting aside the current issues with duration, in my perfect world (which is beyond what previous versions of the add-on offered), I want to be able to enable duration/cooldown, as well as PRIORITY (which number displays when both are in effect), at the BUTTON level, not bar. I'd also want the sweep to track the lower priority of the two so I can see both at once. I believe in the past both numbers would display simultaneously when both were enabled which was difficult to read.

In terms of high CPU, I'd like to at least give it a try to see what kind of impact it has. The idea of a high CPU warning seems reasonable to me as long as the choice is in player hands. I'm assuming not but would button-level durations help with the CPU issue?

Also, have you tried running the high CPU issue past the WoW UI/mod forum? I've had issues with a handful of long abandoned add-ons over the years when Blizzard changes/breaks things and to my recollection the UI forum people have always come through with a fix or workaround. Your issue is bigger than the ones I was having, of course, but there seem to be some experienced brains over there.
