Minimap Button Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.10f
by: Bachlott [More]

This little addon will gather up all of your addon minimap buttons and put them into a movable frame.

Features

- Minimap Button Skinning (Square Minimap Buttons)
- Add or Remove almost any minimap button
- Multiple Sorting Options - Including Custom!
- Collection of Blizzard Buttons
- Collect only the buttons you want
- Background Color can be changed from the config screen
- Hide most of the Blizzard Minimap Icons
- LDB Support
- Key Bindings
- Profile Support
- Basic Localization in English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

Future Features

- Full LDB version of MBF

Known Issues

Metamap minimap button is incompatable due to the way it is handled in the addon.

The addon does not grab button that do not have a name currently.

Currently discovered addons that are this way are:

Enchantrix (Part of Auctioneer Advanced)
onRaid

The Blizzard buttons that only show up under certain conditions, (battleground, LFG) will only display on the Frame when they are shown normally and active scanning is enabled. Otherwise they will apprear on the minimap when they are shown.

The Add feature is a little more powerful than I originally expected. So you can accidentally grab things that you didn't expect to be able to. (Other Addons) I've tried to protect the blizzard interface features and a couple other things, but let me know if you can grab something that you don't think you should be able to. If you do accidentally add something to the bag you can always remove it.

I've added a lot to the Localization, so it's another quick and dirty, horrible translation. Thanks again for the crazyness Google. So if you can do a better translation please help me out and submit it to me so I can add it to MBF. Hopefully Google didn't make them too funny or offensive.

Note:

The ability to add minimap icons to the table can be a general or partial name of the icons. The button override table add should be the exact name of the button that you want to override and collect.

As always your feedback is more than welcome!

Over on CF comments someone posted this:

Backup MinimapButtonFrame.xml first just in case

replace line 3 with this

<Frame name="MinimapButtonFrame" toplevel="true" parent="UIParent" movable="true" clampedToScreen="true" hidden="false" frameStrata="MEDIUM" inherits="BackdropTemplate">

replace line 118 with this

<Frame name="MBFRestoreButtonFrame" parent="UIParent" enableMouse="true" movable="true" hidden="false" clampedToScreen="true" frameStrata="LOW" inherits="BackdropTemplate">
And I can attest that this does work. There is no backdrop on the bar anymore, but the bar functionally exists again after this update.

I am currently using Spartan UI and in the addon there is a "hidden drawer" that you can place buttons in. I would like to put Minimap Button Bar in there, but the button bar lays on top of the drawer. The drawer basically works by having an image that changes opacity when hovered over (I think). As you can see the Bartender4 buttons are underneath the drawer cover on the right side of the image...I am trying to get the MBF frame to do the same.

My assumption is that I could change the strata of MBF and get the drawer cover to cover it up unless you hover over it. Anyone know how to do this?

Bonus if you could tell me how to remove the tooltip frame on MBF.

Thanks for any help in advance, oh yeah, I am playing on Classic if that makes a difference.

So I just downloaded this...

... to try it, because I can't get Auctioneer's built-in one to catch all the buttons. In seeing what it did, I ticked 'collect buttons' under the Blizzard Minimap Button Settings section. Then I unchecked it, and moved on around playing with it. When I was done, I did a /reload. The blizzard minimap buttons are missing, and they show up where they were in the minimap button frame when I had it ticked, showing when the frame is minimized. If you look carefully, around the map and mail icons, you can see artifacts of where i was playing with the border styles. Screenshots:

This persisted between characters. When I logged into the next character, some buttons that had not been active on the first character showed up, two buttons worth of distance below.* Screenshot:

Disabling, for now.

@kasca : Yes it's still being updated. I just don't update for every new TOC. It almost always still works if you allow wow to load out of date addons.

@Mazzop : You can also put your mouse over the button and type in /mbf info. That will give you some debug info about whatever your mouse is over.

@Norek : You can type in /mbf show if that happens to show the frame. You can also type /mbf hide to hide the frame. When I get the chance I'll see about having it reshow the title button if you unlock the frame and things are hidden.

@Morwo : I've had a few people ask for this before but unfortunately it is currently not planned.

Also. MBF is now updated for 6.2.2 with fixes for conflicts with ElvUI and SpartanUI.

Sorry I don't usually monitor the comments here. I do check the curse comments, since they email me when it's commented on.

Hi there, just trying this mod out, and I noticed that if you right click to close the menu, and then you lock the frame, it vanishes, and when you unlock the frame, it is still gone.... I have to swap profiles, give it a sec to "reset" and then swap back, and its on my screen again.

EDIT: I found that enabling the MBF minimap button allows me to toggle the frame again after it's been locked, but that is off by default :P

Solution for any Exception that you don't want MBF to grab

Downlad and install "MoveAnything". Open it in main menu. Find and mark "FS" on top and then move your mouse onto the button you want to change. Then it will show the code name of that frame. Add it to the Exception list. Try a few times if you are not sure which on is it.

Find the line that reads: local miniIcon = CreateFrame("Button", "", Minimap);

Change this to: local miniIcon = CreateFrame("Button", "Enchantrix_MinimapButton", Minimap);

MBF should now be able to collect the button with no problem.

PS: presumably any name will do; this is what worked for me.
Hi there, donīt know if you have worked around this but I saw that they updated auctioneer addon and now the button is named: "EnxMiniMapIcon", just add an exception to the MBF config and you have solved the problem :^)
