Neuron  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.4.18
by: Soyier, Maul

Neuron development is on an indefinite hiatus upon the launch of WoW 10.0. If you are interested in helping with development efforts to push the project forward into Dragonflight, please reach out to Soyier.

Introduction:
Neuron is a full featured action Bar addon for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Important Note: Neuron tentatively works with World of Warcraft: Classic and The Burning Crusade: Classic, but none of our developers actively play Classic, so support and bug fixes are offered without any guarantee. Realistically, many bugs in Classic require max level characters to debug, and none of us have any such characters. Outside help with Classic is always welcome!

Example:

Theme Support:
Neuron inherits all theming courtesy of the Masque addon. Neuron has full Masque compatibility, and the theming options found in Masque are quite in-depth, not to mention the robust portfolio of skins made to support Masque. In short, you can make your bars look any way you like!

Features:
  • Neuron features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, last but not least, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Neuron contains a graphical bar editor that allows for nearly endless customization to bar shape, size, orientation, and much more! Further, Neuron has neither the limitations on max number of bars nor on the max number of buttons per bar, as you might find in addons such as Bartender4 or Dominoes.

Disclaimer:

Neuron is a fork of the amazing Ion Action Bars addon started by Connor Chenoweth aka Maul, for World of Warcraft Legion and onwards. All credit for the bulk of this addon should go to him accordingly, along with SLOKnightFall for his maintainership throughout the years. I, Soyier, take no credit for the idea or implementation of this addon prior to my adoption of the code in the Fall quarter of 2017.

I just reverted to defaulted and added everything back in. I suspect that's just an issue with the bar not having a chance to save correctly, though, so not sure if there's an issue to be reported there. Aside from that, no hunter issues with bars or adding spells to bars.
Out of curiosity, did you have a flyout macro on your bars for traps? I ended up resetting and redoing my Hunters bars from default and the only issue I had doing so was with a flyout macro for traps. Creating the macro worked ok but when I tried to drag it to a different button it stuck and disabled the flyout functionality.
Trap flyout, no, since there are only two available as BM. I do have the pet utility flyout and call pet flyout on the bar, though. I've moved them without issue, too. I'll try poking the trap flyout, though, to see what happens.
Trap flyout is actually gone for BM now, the two traps are in the spellbook separately. I'll try the other specs to see.

Enemy cast bar

I recently switched from Ion just prior to the pre-patch falling. I switched on one char since I was reluctant to redo all my bars from Ion.

During that process I noticed that the status bars wont stay hidden. I was using eCastingBars at the time and wasn't using the status bars on Ion or Neuron. Since I couldn't keep them hidden, I deleted them. Since the pre-patch I've started trying to use Neuron's casting bars. I created new ones and was able to recover most of the bars - my char's casting bar, the mirror bar, rep and xp, etc. The only thing I can't seem to get is the enemy casting bar.

How can I recreate the enemy cast bar?

Thanks,
Don

Once you have created your status bar, go into the "button editor mode" and select "cast bar" as the type and then for 'Unit' select "target" or whatever it is that you want

New Neuron in-game Community

I created a new Neuron in-game community called "Neuron", join it if you want to catch me in-game, or to talk to other Neuron users :-)

On further testing I've found that when I change the new bar to be unit="target", it changes the old one to target also. If I change either of them it changes the other also.

That's not good. That's a bug for sure, I'll check into it asap. Can you file this bug on GitHub for me to track it?

Ok, I just got it to work. The bug seems to be related to changing two status bars at the same time. If I set one to target and get out of edit mode and then go back in and change the other it works.

Link to the Neuron Community

Hey Guys, this is the link to the Neuron Community in game!

https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/invi...&faction=Horde

So far this is just the Horde community. I want to see how this community thing works before spending time on both factions

Hey there.

I recently transitioned from Ion to Neuron. I've been having a couple issues since the recent patch, but for the most part everything is functional; My flyout buttons don't seem to collapse after right-clicking them a second time and will just stay visible indefinitely (or until I reload or select one). Mostly speaking about mage Teleport and Portal options, as well as my hunter's active pets. (Tooltips don't display for the portals, either, once being drug onto the bars. I'm unfortunately not familiar enough with the icons to know which one is associated with each city.)

The other issue is with pet ability macros. Well, specifically mage pet (hunter seems to work just fine). Having a simple Freeze macro to bind outside of the pet bar just floods my UI with lua errors. I've removed it for now since I'm not sure how to circumvent that but the button seems to work just fine. BugSack mentions something about MACRO_UpdateUsableSpell, MACRO_UpdateButton, and MACRO_OnEvent. (I hope that is helpful in some way.)

And I also wanted to say thank you for your continued work on Ion/Neuron. You've done a stellar job reworking everything!

Right click on any one of the visible icons while the flyout is expanded, that should collapse them again.

so in the newest update.. 0.9.30b when on a sub rogue, the "bear form" tab is now removed on edit button window, but there's no tab for the stealth, so just having the stance option checked for the bar states there is still 3 configurations for the bar, but only 2 are accessible on the edit button window.. was that intended? or was the stance suppose to be just for melee and shadowdance but the stealthed portion didn't get removed?

That's my bad. I just pushed a new release that should have that fixed. I really should make a rogue so I can test things like this lol

hrm trying the new one -0.9.30c, it didnt actually change things for sub rogue.. still no tab on edit button window, but definitely still has its own bars if you stealth.. i could add stealth bar state, and have the option to edit the button, but when i stealth it briefly flickers to the stealth bar attached to the stance state before it shows the other stealthed state.. if that makes any sense what so ever? so basically having the stance state and stealth state gives it 2x stealth buttons.. but one is still hidden

not having an edit button for the stealth portion of the "stance" bar isn't game breaking.. since you can just stealth and put stuffs on the bar.. its entirely possible.. i'm going to be the only one that ever even noticed this because i tend to fiddle around with all the settings too much lol

but.. you know.. rogues are kinda fun.. and they still get 5k gold a week just to pick pockets at 110.. if you made a rogue by the time you've been 110 for 10 months you'd have enough gold to buy a wow token in the NA servers just for picking pockets! (provided token prices don't go up too much.. )

Fiiiiiine, I'll make a bloody rogue then.

The things I do for you guys ;-)

*Update*, ok I made a rogue, found the issue, and fixed it. Now you don't have a "stance" option, just a stealth option (which is what it was before really) which makes you unique stealth bars, Vanish bars, and also Shadow Dance bars if you are sub spec. I also took away the second "stealth" option that would show for other classes like hunters and druids, because that's kinda ursurped by the first stealth option.

If you don't need special Vanish bars, you can always remap the stance to whatever else you want

Also, why I was at it, I change the "stance" option for druids to be "Shapeshift" now for clarity. I really can't wait till I can get rid of this GUI though, it makes me die a little inside everytime I have to try to debug it
