Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Range based transparency

It will be wery good if frames will change ther transparency based on range info - for example i dont need unit frames when im standing at melee range, only when my target are at 25+yd.

Check your push settings for debuffs.
thats the thing, i have it set for left to right, top to bottom and it pushes the way it should be in config mode but when fighting mobs the debuffs are a line above or below where they're supposed to be.

That's growth. Look again, there's a setting labeled "Push Direction from..." something.

Won't be in Stuf.

In relation to the bf skinning issue, I would supply an error if I got one but I don't.

However if it is any help whatsoever, I'll link these two images of what the bf settings show after the frame has glossed itself.

(Photobucket links so they're safe don't worry.)

Stuf - Click

Stuf/all - Click

Again, any help is appreciated, I want to avoid resetting my saved variables as much as possible.

i dont know if this could affect the performance, but it would be nice if a text will be hidden when not mouseovered, like to make the HP values on party frame to be hidden

cheers

Wish there were better ways to search through comments:

Is there a way to have debuff-based border coloring? It was one of my favorite features of Pitbull, and would make my raid frames just absolutely perfect(and my normal frames, for that matter). So, is it currently possible?

(I'd rather not make a request because of the info on the front page, but just 'cause: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS MOD. More customizable than Pitbull, and better on CPU/Memory consumption? Hell yes. I love it so much.)

Try making all of the BF settings identical. Stuf also shows a list of BF skins that you may select if you want try. You can exit WoW, and delete individual addon's settings in your WTF. Other than that, beats me.

Asked several times and denied several times since you can use a tooltip mod for that. I guess the umpteenth time shows that it a popular feature, so I'll add it in the next major release.

Don't know why people want to blind cleanse. Stuf uses a "Dispel Icon" that pops up when you can cure something (you can probably resize it to fit your borders), and there's also show only curable options.

Honestly it's more of a PvE player thing. We know what debuffs we get from where and whether to cleanse them or not. In PvP it's much more dangerous to just do it willy-nilly, so... I can see why you wouldn't. But I'll see if I can't get a dispel icon thing working. Thanks for responding.

Hey, just hoping someone can help me write a tag. I am looking for a tag that reads xxx% where xxx is the number value of your threat.

Edit: also is there a way to set the player frame to be click through?

this is going to be an odd request, but is there any way to add "space" infotag?

basically, i use
[lp][difficulty:level][reactionnpc_if_npc:classification][rp] [race][class_if_pc:class]

class on an NPC doesnt work, as covered in the past. Just duplicates the name. So as above it only shows class if its a PC. As such there is a leading space between [race] and [class_if_pc:class] that just throws off centered text.

its a cosmetic thing, and not needed, but just curious

You can use the threat bar and hide everything except the text, unless you want more than that.

Just make the base frame very small and/or move it out of the way.

Class does work, but I guess Blizz wants it to return name for NPCs. For spaces, no infotag is needed since anything else is shown as is, so [class_if_pc: ] should work. However, I suggest coloring race by class to simplify your tag.

I think [lp] and [rp] is not need if used by themselves (only needed when being color or condition tagged), just use "(" and ")".

Great mod, thank you for spending so much time on it!!

I've been looking around and haven't found this answer. How can you, or can you even, make the units parents of each other. So when you locked them, but decided to move them elsewhere they all moved at the same time? Or certain ones only moved.

I have a very obscure bug to report. If you set a frame strata in the global options of the addon, it causes the cooldown pie of Target of Target to flicker. Very odd, doesn't seem to happen with any of the other frames.

Great addon, I've been getting a lot of mileage out of it. Pretty easy to use despite the ton of options.

However, I was annoyed it was impossible to check the Only on Mine checkbox in the Time Text of the Debuff Icons in any of the frames (not implemented I'm guessing?), and the complete absence of Time Text completely on Target of Target kind of stunk too. A little more control over the time text's counting values would be nice too, when it transitions from 10 to 9, it will display a three-digit number, which you really have to expand the width for. I wish the decimal point numbers wouldn't start appearing until, say, 3-5 seconds or below, though.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Not really, you can move all party, all arena, or all everything at once (see Toggle Drag tooltip). Each unit frame is designed to be unaware of others for more configuring freedom.

I see the flickering also, but it only happens for strata below MEDIUM and may be a Blizz issue. ToT is refreshed often since it is not an event-driven unit, so I see no way around it. I'll look into more before the next release.

Many people complain that there's a lot of options, and many also request more; seems like you're doing both. Anyway, the Time Text is mainly as an alternative to OmniCC and the cooldown pie. The Time Text already has a mess of options. If it's not enough, I believe you can use SBF or OmniCC. "Only on Mine" option will be fixed in the next release.

How? I never said anything remotely like that.
