Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Is this a Blizzard change that makes horizontal bars no longer an option??)

and secondly how would I tie Stuf frames into KGpanels? I know for Pitbull it was PitBullUnitFrame(whatevernumber)...
I'm not sure what you mean by vertical position. Do you mean x/y positions? Height/width? Vertical/horizontal orientation fill? By default, everything is set to a horizontal orientation.

For kgPanel, I assume you want the frame's name so you can set parent. Try this script to retrieve frame name when you mouse over it:
Code:
/script print(GetMouseFocus():GetName())
The Horizontal/Vertical texture flip is only noticeable when the texture is not symmetrical.

Sorry its almost 3 where I am and things are proving more challenging then I would like at this point in time, but I meant vertical. i have managed to get the bars set to a vertical position that I was aiming for, I was just wondering if there was an option that I may have missed instead of playing with the width, height,x/y options.

thanks anyways

Yup, worked perfect.

I've added options to only show castable raid buffs and curable debuffs in the latest update

Is the curable debuffs raid only ( defualt bliz) or show in party as well?

It should be any group and solo since I use that same filter for the single dispel icon.

I don't think anyone else has reported this but here goes. Basically after I got done fixing it the way I like I get this error
Code:
[00:48:37] Interface\AddOns\Stuf\aura.lua:221: attempt to index local 'color' (a nil value)
[C]: ?
Interface\AddOns\Stuf\aura.lua:221: in function <Interface\AddOns\Stuf\aura.lua:211>
Interface\AddOns\Stuf\aura.lua:478: in function `func'
Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:470: in function <Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:430>
Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:494: in function `?'
Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:92: in function <Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:91>

Interface\FrameXML\SecureTemplates.lua:402: in function `SecureUnitButton_OnClick'

This happens after I target a creature then target myself. Every time. Also, all the name, health, portrait everything doesn't update to my character's information. It keeps the previous targets information.

Patern Tag.

Great addon.

Low CPU usage, no errors as far as I can see, friendly-user configuration, transparency...

Very good work!

Try setting the color for "My Buff" and "Buff" in the global options. For some reason, they're not set properly.

@ Tokamal - Thanks. Those were Stuf's priorities.

@ kxuhx - No problem. Please screen your HUD setup when you're done. I'm curious to see Stuf made into one.

First of all, great unit mod! I've used mainly aguf for the past couple years as i had a custom layout i edited myself. I started with Discord, went to Aguf until shortly after 3.0, and been using Pitbull up until i discovered your addon. I really like the low "footprint". The config is a lil tedeious at 1st but the customization is awesome!
I do, however, have some feature requests:
1. A border for the target frame colored by classification(gold for elite silver for rare) and class/classification.
2. An option to fade the out of range units.
3. An infotag for short health/mana after 4 digits , something like [curhpshort] so past 9999 would read 10k, 10.1k, 10.2k and so-on.

I also have a general unit frame question, is it me or did Blizzard change sumthing with the range-checking on frames? It only seems to work on friendly units i can buff with any UF i've tried since 3.0.

Lastly keep up the GREAT work on this addon, it is refreshing to see such a customizable, lightweight, and purely badazz unit-frame addon!!!

1. Not useful unless it's the dragon texture since gold looks like neutral reaction or rogue class, and silver just looks white on any border texture. You also have all the flexibility to make a text pattern to get your attention for rare/elite.

2. In a party setting, I do not want to promote OOR fading because it usually makes the healer ignore you even if you're only a yard or two OOR. Definitely useful for raid frames, though.

3. At level 80, everything is pretty much between 10k and 100k, which would make reformatting numbers done very often and reduce performance. Plus it would not work with my current tag system. It's either always or never short past 10k, and most would like to know exactly how much hp/mana their comrades have.

Range check for unit frames has always been for heal/cure spells to friendly units (40 yards). For harmful spells, the range varies between several spells, so it's best to look at your actionbar to determine range for enemies.

After trying what you suggested I still get the same error and associated messed up target frame. After scraping my layout and starting over I figured out how to reproduce it.

In target settings just check hide for Buff Icons. You'll get the error and frame will mess up like I described below.

Other than that it works great! Thanks a lot!

Doh, thanks for finding the reason and sorry for making you start over. Should be fixed in the latest update.

Thank you for your rapid response. Is there currently a way to show short version? I show 26700/26700 hp on my pally and would prefer 26.7k/26.7k.I fully understand and appreciate the performance impact, and can live without the number formatting if not. As for #1 i see your point with a class/classification coloring but i beleive a classification border would be a usefull visual you had an "important" target. I have no border showing on my target frame atm and it would work well as such. As for #2 i heal and i just find it more tedious to scan the frames for the OOR over the easy visual of the frame being faded. I understand that this is your addon but i beleive #1 and #2 are worth the time to look further into, if nothing more to humor an avid UF fan . Once again...thank you for your time, effort, and patience!

Oh, almost forgot i'm aware of the 40yd range check for friendly units, my question is why i ONLY get that check now? None at all for hostile targets it seems now. I know aguf worked like that because i found it essential for pvp(i beleive it worked on your max-range harmful spell) and Pitbull worked like that too up until 3.0. Now none that i try seem to work including *cringe* X-Perl. I'm wondering if sumthing in Blizzard changed or i got a screwy wtf file or goofed something else up.

Really into this addon, I think its great.

Some requests

Ive setup my stuf a lot like perl (here is a screenshot http://tinyurl.com/bbnwvx ).

1. Is there a way to get the background frame reversed? Like in the screenshot I want the curved part to be on the right side not on the left. ( isn't it supposed to be like that anyhow?)

2. Party spacing global. Can there just be a global setting under party to change the frame spacing ( between each other) instead of doing each one separately? That way it very easy to maintain a uniform look and also change on the fly very quickly . ( most unit frames have this option and its very useful).

3. Save and export settings. This addon is surprisingly customized it would be nice to be able to export settings so other people can just import them.

cheers though, great work.
