LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

I must say I'm having difficulty in conceiving of a home with a WoW-capable PC with the ablity to open network connections, but only if those connections are not to WoW servers owned & operated by Blizzard Entertainment.

If you're talking about a college situation where a particular institution has blocked access and some "clever" person has set up a server on the inside.. well, that's the perils that come with on-campus living, and the solution is to live off-campus.

Your argument amounts to "Shoplifting is OK only if you're broke."

To this, I'll add that the mmoui minion beta is working superbly, particularly if most/all of your addons are sourced from WoWI. Those looking for one-click updaters who don't mind taking a little risk if it doesn't work in their particular setup can start taking a look now.

Problem showing the quest comments

I'm using QuestGuru as my quest addon... Whenever there is only one quest left in my quest log and the last quest LightHeaded tracked was handed into the NPC, LightHeaded will not show the comments for the one quest thats in my quest log until I'm able to click another quest... Clicking the quests in my History log and going back to my current quest did not work... Any help is appreciated...

This would be an issue with QuestGuru, I suggest you contact them.

The comments and quest information available in LightHeaded is English only.

Just wondering, will it possible to add a new / command?

/lh show (or /lh hide)

So I can toggle on/off LH whenever I need it. I have my pane detached, but tbh I only need this when on a quest that I don't already know. And would like to be able to toggle the show/hiding off it my a slash command. (Users could then macro that to a button so they could then show/hide the pane by just clicking).

Clad, have you ever thought of doing a Lightheaded for achievements? I constantly find myself wanting to review the Wowhead comments for lots of achievements in-game.

It's been suggested, but at this time I have no plans to do this. Perhaps if time presents itself in the future.. but it would be a lot of work.

Latin text in Lightheaded?

When I opened up my quest log today, LH was nothing but a solid block of latin!
At least from what I remember after 27 years away from school, it sure LOOKS like Latin.

Everything else besides LH works as usual.

It's actually not Latin at all (http://www.lipsum.com/). That would happen if all of the data addons are disabled or not loadable for some reason. Ensure they are enabled, or use /lh debug for more information.

Lightheaded Not Showing? :(

Soo I logged on today and started doing a bit of questing only to find that there was no Lightheaded showing up on my questlog.
I checked the WoWfolder and sure enough the Lightheaded folder was there

However when I logged into WoW and checked my addon screen, there was no "Lightheaded" addon that I could see. Any tips?

Also, I love Lightheaded to pieces! It's helped me so much! ^_^

Sounds like it's not installed correctly. I'd reinstall it and see if you can fix it.

Still doesn't work I'm thinking there might be an addon messing with it but I'm not sure

If it's not appearing in your addon list, it's not installed correctly.
