Simple Light Data Text v9.0.2

SLDataText is a lightweight addon based on text based modules, which can be moved & customized independently or globally. It includes LibSharedMedia support for expanded font selection, and various degrees of mouse click interaction on various module frames. It also supports user-created plug-ins to expand on the module selection beyond what is included in this package. Plug-ins can be as vast or as tiny as desired. Included is are custom libraries (LibSL-1.0 and LibSLTip-1.0) that are used for module configuration menu management and interactive tooltips.

Each module can be positioned independently via dragging and placement can be fined tuned via the configuration menu. Fine tuning includes manual frame anchoring, text justification, X/Y value tweaking, and frame strata value.

Each module has an independent configuration menu, and the AddOn has a global menu to handle unified font types & sizes. The following modules are contained in this package:

  • NEW!!! Guild: Displays current online Guild Member count, and an interactive tooltip that allows click functionality.
  • NEW!!! Friends: Displays current online Friend count, and an interactive tooltip that allows click functionality.
  • Armor: Displays current overall gear durability value as well as a tooltip that provides detailed durability information. This module also has an auto-repair feature.
  • Bag: Displays remaining & total bag space. Click interaction toggles your bags open & closed.
  • Clock: Displays selected Local or Realm time, with options for 12 & 24 hour format(s). Tooltip provides expanded time information, and click interaction toggles both the Time Manager & Calendar windows.
  • Coords: A simple map coordinate display.
  • Currency: Displays currency of your choosing based on your "discovered" currencies. Interactive tooltip provides full currency list and allows for display selection.
  • Exp: Displays experience point information, including percentage & rest percentage.
  • FPS: A simple framerate display.
  • Gold: Displays current overall Gold in long or short format, tooltip shows session-based values (Starting/Current/Earned).
  • Latency: A simple latency display.
  • Mail: A simple mail indicator inheriting the stock MinimapMailFrame tooltip.
  • Memory: Displays current UI memory usage, as well as provides click interaction for manual garbage collection and a detailed list of AddOn usage.
  • Reputation: Displays current tracked Reputation. Utilizes Blizzards built-in tracking on the Reputation pane, "XP Bar" watched Reputations will be displayed.
  • ZoneText: A simple ZoneText display with PvP-Type coloration.
Be sure to check the Other Files tab for additional modules, such as Guild, Friends, and StatLine!

Usage:
/sldt[*]Help
/sldt config[*]Toggle drag & drop/configuration mode
/sldt global[*]Open global configuration menu
/sldt <module>[*]Open module configuration menu

Note: In drag & drop/configuration mode, you can left click & drag to move modules, or right click modules to open their specific configuration menu. The Global Configuration Menu has global options such as font & sizes that carry over into the modules, as well as profile options and tooltip scaling for LibSLTip tooltips.

Special Thanks: I originally wrote this AddOn a long time ago, and have taken extended breaks from WoW at which time suicidalKatt & snichols1122 both made contributions to keep the AddOn up to date and functional so people could continue to use it. I just want to give them a big "Thanks" for doing so, their efforts are much appreciated!

I just finished setting it up .. and it's really neat ..

Especially the improvement to the guild and friends tooltips ..

How ever..

Is it possible that you could adda feature to anchor the tooltips to show above or below you mouse ? .. my text is at my bottom right cornor.. and the tooltips take up all the bottom right cornor so i have to move my mouse across the screen to be able to browse one and other.

As someone mentioned earlier.. he couldn't play properly with it.. i can.. but a solution to his problem might be to enabled a scrolling bar in the tooltip when the guild online member's exceed a certain number.. 15-20 maybe? or maybe a limit set by the user so they can adjust after their resolution.
Just a suggestion :P

I know thsi is a detail hehe..

But is it possible to justify the tooltip text to left, right, center in each collom?

And then last - for now - will you be adding the location text to the SLDT like in the old?

I am such a pain in the ass, i know Taffu ..

I just had a look at Guild style, and thought about the hiding options.. is it possible that you could add a "hide class" collomn option? .. Since the names are class colored it just takes up space hehe.

And out of all curiousity .. Will be adding them combat text? .. crit, ap, rap, defense, dodge, parry, spelldmg, healing etc.?

Okay i'll try to stop now.. ..

Ok, first -

Syngian: Profiles are coming, I promise :P I'm so used to Ace2, I didn't notice they weren't there with Ace3!

Jezzabel: Working on a fix for this

Kazie: Column justification is coming, as well as some more that you can toggle on and off. Reputation is something I've wanted to add, and will do so once I've trimmed the plugins down a bit...the current build is using a little more memory than I want it to.

In regards to the Statline plugin coming soon: I've got a "crude" dry-coded build I'm working on. One of the challenges is keeping the plugin small while still useful to all classes. There's a ton of game information to gather, and this is a plugin that I want to have it almost "automated" where it considers your class & talent build and auto-displays the information you're going to want to see. The crude build I have done is for Druids only...since my main is a Druid. For example:

I'm a Druid, and I've more talents in Resto than any other tree. Statline will auto display (a) Bonus Healing (b) Spell Crit (c) Current Mana Regen. However, if I were to run and respec with more Feral points than any other tree, the display will automatically adjust to display (a) Attack Power (b) Crit% (c) Defense.

This is something I'm going to need a lot of feedback on...since it's addressing a LOT of different gameplay perspectives. If things get too messy or too complicated...I may just simply make it three seperate selectable field values and be done with it. I'm working on it though

As in separating the two into individual plugins?

Thinking about it now, that's probably the only way I could do what I want, but yeah, I wanted to place the server time above the local time with a smaller font ala Hal's UI.

Suggestion:

Option to attach to SLDT frames. I know you can set it up for other frames, but there's no option to anchor to it's own frames, which is kinda silly.

For example, I've placed my "Gold" just above another texture and I want "Bags" placed just above that. Right now, I'd have to fiddle around with the numbers until it was placed above "Gold". Would be much easier if I could just set "Gold" as the anchor frame for "Bags".

Hope that makes sense.

Edit: Also, it's still showing ammo data for me when I don't have a prof/ammo bag (playing a priest).

All frames are named and can be anchored to each other using the Parent field. Every plugin frame anchor name is simply SLDT<plugin>...so for instance Latency would be SLDTLatency, and Memory would be SLDTMemory.

The ammo is pulling the ranged (in a priest's case, Wand) slot, a fix I'm working on. Try using the Hide Ammo option until next release, I'm working on a fix now.

Anything specific you did to occur this, or did it happen on first load? It's in relation to the value color field. Did you change colors and the error fired?

I'd really like the options to choose my own colors using the color picker, not just premade ones. Is this anything you might add?

Have you taken a look at the Colors.lua file? It has instructions to add your own custom colors.

/sldt doesn't do anything for me...

I downloaded sldatatext from this website. I unzipped it into my wow/interface/addons folder just like every other addon I've ever used (including slcore previously). I start wow and make sure SLDataText is checked for all toons in the addons tab, and then I log in. When I type /sldt all I get is a "type 'help' for a listing of a few commands"

I really liked slcore, and I'd love to have the latest and greatest. Any idea what is going on? Am I doing something wrong or is it broken? I appreciate any help.

Also, on a related note, is there anyway to put the configuration menu into the addons tab in wow's interface options menu? I use the trinity buttons addon and its menu is there. Thanks for all the hard work.

Taffu..

That talent scanning addon you're talking about, where if you have more points in feral than resto/ballance it will show AP, crit, armor and shit..

Will you make it possible for us to choose for our selves? ..

Some ppl have hybrid gear in their bags.. meaning tank and dps gear.

So instead of changing the addon, one could choose to show whatever tanking and dps text he wants.

not rly sure if that made sense.. but i hope you get the picture :P
