Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.
  • Assign a sound file to play for events/triggers.
  • Dynamically create new scroll areas and assign any event/trigger to them.
  • Customize the position, size, animation style, enabled state, font style, font size, font outline, and opacity for each of the scroll areas.

The fonts don't look right in msbt. Its like the anti-aliasing is all screwed up. For example:



This is with a custom added font, Emblem, at 24 point with a thick outline. I can't get any font to look right at any setting actually. This is how it looks in SCT at the same settings:

The new system just requires you to verify the name in the combat log. Whatever the name of the debuff is in the combat log is what MSBT is parsing. Then just make an event for a debuff application to yourself with that name. I don't know what Death and Decay is, but it'd have to do some kind of damage to you first before it would appear in the log.

I read you are changing the triggers, so this question might be moot and pointless at this point. But the question is fairly basic I think.

Question:
How do you find the text to set a trigger on? What I mean is this. I want to make a trigger for Death & Decay when it spawns under me for example. I have tried making the trigger text "Death & Decay" or "Death and Decay" without the quotation. Neither seems to trigger anything. So obviously I am doing something wrong.

If it'd ease some of the burden, I'd write some helper functions for you, which you specify the requirements for. I could just write them & reply back in this thread with the code. It's totally up to you - I just don't want to see you get burnt out trying to support this beautiful addon .

Kraiden is correct. The icons that are being shown are what the Blizzard API is returning. Some things don't have specific icons and it seems that icon is what Blizzard uses as a catch all.


Raskol:

No, there isn't a code available for pet names specifically.

It will be fixed when I finish the new trigger system. I was hoping to already be done, but my free time has been severely limited. It's still in progress though. In the mean time, you can disable "Low Mana" on the trigger tabs for now to avoid seeing it.

Talking Feral Druids Got Mana?

I have tried to search the places where msbt is located but haven't found a repsonse so far, sooo....

When I am in Meow Form and my energy is low I get a low mana warning, though I have disabled the sound i still see the warning. Tried to find a trigger for low energy but found nothing. I have the same issue when in bear form and running low on rage.

Is there any way to change this or is it something that will be corrected in an upcoming patch?

Show pet/totem name instead of 'Pet'

Is it possible to show the actual pet name for incoming Pet events? A Shaman can have 5 pets out at once - 4 totems and an elemental - and it would be awesome to get a message saying exactly which one was hit.

I tried replacing 'Pet' with '%r', however, I don't see the pet name, just the '%r' literal.

Am I missing something - can this already be done? If not, this would be an awesome feature.

Mana regeneration from Spiritual Attunement

Great mod. I do have one issue since the advent of 2.4. In this picture, you see me tanking a bunch of mobs and getting heal. The mana return from spiritual attunement is currently shown a guy's face, instead of the actual spell icon.

Ahh yes that did the trick thank you Liolin. I was under the impression that this was a event thing not a trigger effect. Here's what I use if anyone wanted to use it as well.

Debuff App -> Target -> Hostile

Wow, nicely done! Great mod... However... I have a few questions... might sound noob-ish...


I dunno why, but I can see other people casting stuff that I don't need to see (I made triggers to see when rogues are out of CoD/popped CoD, sheep broken... etc etc) but right now... I even see people mounting up (BLAH is casting Dreadsteed, etc) and I also see people using all these skills...

It floods my screen and I don't know how to turn it off or what causes this to happen. In the triggers menu, I don't seee anything with regards to this.


Can you please help me? Thank you!
