PerfectRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v90001-1.0
by: Cladhaire [More]

PerfectRaid is a whole new look on raid frames, giving you as much information as possible in an easily recognizable format that's easy to place. Show as much or as little as you're interested in, and completely customize using the each options editor.

Use /praid to open the configuration GUI.

  1. A preliminary frame editor is in game. It can be kind of complex at the moment, but it comes with a nice set of defaults for you to use.
  2. Added a pre-made buff dropdown to the buff editor screen

shape of the unit boxes changeable?

Hey everyone. First time commenter, long time PR lover. Was wondering 2 things really, and hadnt yet figured out if either is doable w/the current version of PR.

1. Can the names of the people in the raid me moved to be ON the unit bars themselves, instead of off to the side? If this is possible, could someone more enlightened help me out w/a 'how-to'?

2. Are the unit frame shapes alterable; meaning -- I actually love the more 'boxey' shape of the frames that Grid uses, but HATE its complexity. Was wondering if the config options of PR allowed the dimensions of the units to be changed, other than just the scale / padding / spacing.

Any help on those 2 things would be greatly appreciated. I've tried Grid, X-perl, Shadowed Frames, Vuh'Do etc for raid healing ... and always come happily back to Perfect Raid. Great job on its utility and simplicity. /cheers!

Config, nope. You can change the code to make changes like that.

Pet Bars

I know we've argued in the past about adding pet bars to this addon and I won't go there again. I will, however, ask if you've ever thought about making a mod that has the look and feel of PR, but just for pets?

I have absolutely 0 issues adding pet support to PerfectRaid. The problem is that the framework we're using is old, buggy, and outdated. Making further changes to it would make it even more unmaintainable and I just frankly don't have the time for that.

The same would apply to making another addon.. there's nothing to base it on. That's what I would like to solve, but have found incredibly difficult to find time to do.

Hello,

Is there a way to change the height and width of the bars, not just by the scale?

Thanks!

Hello,

Right now, the mana bars show up as overlapping the health bar. This makes the bars look uneven when viewed with classes that don't use mana. Is there a way to make the bars just not overlap?

Thanks!

You could disable mana bars, or change the code.

So, what you're saying is that in order to add pet bars you'd have to make an entirely new addon. Therefor, in short, if you were to make an addon like I described.. a pet bar addon with the look and feel of PR.. you might as well add player bars to IT, because it would be new code?

Just trying to understand what you said there If that's the case, I hope you consider it. I know lots of people that use this addon, because other raid addons are so hard to setup and typically take up too much space. Right now, if I use your addon, I have to use the standard pet bars from the raid frames tab, which is fine, but I'd rather they were all together. Healing pets is much more important now and I think I speak for many healers on this subject.

Anyway, again, hope you find the time to make "PerfectRaid2" in the near future

Cheers

You could probably manually spawn a PRaid header for pets, but you'd have to hack at the code quite a bit to get it in the right place. And then, I'm fairly confident it wouldn't work properly.

I have intentions of doing it, just finding time for everything has been incredibly difficult.

RangeCheck

Hello

I used this addon for a rather long time now (and appreciate it) - but there is one thing which have been bothering me

The rangecheck to see who are nearby for heals are not working properly for me - it is fading out a few yards too early, so basically i can still heal some targets which is faded

Is it possible to change some text somewhere in one of the files so it's strict to 40yards somehow?

Thank you very much in advance

You can download an old version of the addon and use the PerfectRaid_Range.lua from that. There you can customize teh specific spell it uses. Unfortunately, WoW's UnitInRange() function has tis bizarre 'off by a few yards' issue.

Thanks for the very quick response but unfortunately don't quite understand exactly what I need to do. I don't want to bother you too much, but could you make a step by step to make me less confused - and from what older version?

Once again - I really like this addon and with or without a "fix" to the range issue i'll continue to use it for as long as possible. Cheers

I don't know which version. Just download older versions of the addon from the addon page, and take the PerfectRaid_Range.lua file. it'll be different, and that older version supported setting spells for range checking.

Ah, yeah. I made it slighty more complicated than it actually were. Hoooray! Looks good. Many thanks and looking forward to future updates

Edit: Out of curiosity, how come you decided to change it? If you are aware of the few yards issue. Seems alot more reliable having rangecheck do it on a specific spell.. or just me?
