tekKompare is my own personal replacement for EquipCompare and similar addons. It's super-small, designed to do two things:

Give you always-on compare tooltips
Show tooltips for links in chat when hovering over them

If you want to disable the hovertips, just delete the HoverTips.lua file.

I activated the press button feature in the Lua file, so now I have to press Control to compare, and it works like a charm. But why do I have to keep the key pressed when comparing stuff in my inventory while pressing it once is enough everywhere else? Is there any way to change this behaviour so that pressing Control once works just fine in the inventory too?

If you have an addon that fixes this longstanding annoyance (StopTheLagginess was it?) then the tooltip is only drawn when first shown, thus you'd only need the key pressed when first drawn. Not that it matters, patch 2.1 implements an adequate replacement for tK, so I will be discontinuing this mod at that time. Or maybe I'll convert it to remove the keybind requirement on the new design... hrm...

I disabled all my rogue and warlock addons and went in and all was fine.
