thanks for makin this mod, I'm sick of ignoring weasel, desirae, and all the rest of them whenever I'm in cities.

I am about to try this mod out. Due to the recent spam in our trade channel thanks to weasel (asshat). I really hope this blocks out the annoying little pricks using that mod.

What a horrible mod!

That makes it a good mod, if you ask me. The ChatFrame_AddMessageEventFilter function has provided many a form of handy utility, and this is another one.

I'm glad of the ComplainChat() change because even in my own mod, Civility, I point out that it should be primarily for gold-spammers or really offensive things (such as racial or other kinds of slurs, which the GMs would want to know about). It's things like this we really have to tiptoe around, or likely Blizz will end up turning even that into a protected function... and that would stink.

All that said, your mod is a good base for further expension, Feather. Had you considered checking for spam from other, pre-existing, mods to see what else could be filtered out? You could even have a config screen (thanks to the new Addons tab) where the player could tick on/off Addons whose output they don't want to see.

Just a thought, anyway.

These little joke mods still make me laugh, but I just hope that no one ever gets hurt by them. On one hand, weasel's mod might get them in trouble for spamming (since those outputs do constitute the use of spamming by Blizzard's rules), but on the other hand, this mod might just as easily get a user in trouble if a ticked off GM has to read lots of blocked lines that were nothing more than mere frivolity (as opposed to a serious offense, a slur, or spam).

I approve of these mods, they're great for a laugh... but I do hope that the players are as smart as I think they are. Still, the description on the front page should be warning enough... but it might be worth a mention that this might constitute abuse of the ComplainChat() function should anyone use it.

Great idea Although I won't be using it, for the same reason that I don't use Reported! - I don't care what people use the channels for, I don't care if people spell stuff wrong, I don't even care about spam (thats what ignore is for, but the offenders normally get bored and wander off if you don't rise to their mindless repeating), and I especially don't care if someone's got a non-rp name on an rp realm...

that said, I support this addon, anything that sticks a one fingered salute to those anal bastards is ok in my book
