TrackingReminder
Forget your track herbs, mining, or something? Be reminded, with TrackingReminder!

As of May 20, 2009: This addon is unsupported for the time being. AddOn authoring was only a hobby of mine. Mike-N-Go is not currently playing WoW, thus not creating or maintaining mods for WoW. If someone wishes to submit a patch for one of my mods to WoWInterface, you may within the bounds of the license bundled with the mod.

Brief Description:
Are you idiotic like me, and sometimes would fly around for 15 minutes, ponder where all the herbs went, and then realize that you have track repairs on? That is no longer a problem! This mod will help remind you.

Use:
Key "/tr set NAME" where NAME is the name of the track you want to be reminded of, and it will announce to you only if you do not have that as your current tracking.

The alert is two parts, a sound and text alert. The text alert goes through MikScrollingBattleText if the user has it installed or the standard scrolling errors frame it not. You must download MikSBT if you want to use this mod with it.

Alias slash commands:
/trackr
/trackingreminder

For additional usage information, key "/tr help" in game.

Caveats, Known Bugs, etc.:
• No known bugs

Future expansion, additions, planed features, etc:
• Support for other scrolling text addons
• Spice up the MSBT message with color and the tracking icons
• Allow the user to change the sound or find some sound that better fits tracking
• Support to change the filter, IE: by zone and not show when in one of the BGs, and customize it in different ways
• A keybind to set the tracking to the wanted tracking or automatically set tracking
• GUI configuration
• AddonLoader support, and load only when the character does not resting
• Better hunter support, as they might want to change tracking to a mob type or gathering profession
• Shortcut for track types, IE instead of keying 'find minerals', just key 'ore' or 'minerals'

About the Version Numbers:
Version: xxxxx-x.x.xx ([interface number]-[major version].[sub version].[current release])
Interface number: Version of the interface the addon was most recently updated for, this number and the version number have no linear relationship with the latter clauses.
Major version: When the mod evolves to a state that is vastly different from the first distribution of the prior major version, this will be updated.
Sub version: Whenever the mod has new features added, or many minor tweaks, this number might advance.
Current release: The current reversion of the sub version, changed every time a new version of the mod is submitted to WoWInterface.com

1) Is the addon was checked on in your addon config screen before you log on, or is it not was in the menu.
2) Reinstalling the addon
3) Reseting temp WoW files (WTF/Cache)
4) Reinstalling WoW
5) Do you have any other addons active, some that you might think conflict with slash '/tr'
6) What/how did you decompress the file; it might have gotten corrupt in the decompression
7) What is the complete install path of the file; you might have put it in the wrong place
8) The addon folder needs to be called 'TrackingReminder'; did your extractor change the name?
9) Does this addon work or not with all of your other addons disabled
10) What version of what are you running
10) Try the aliases slash commands; they are in the addon, but were not posted in the description when you downloaded this mod. There are two aliases to the '/tr' in this addon: /trackr, /trackingreminder.
1) Yes
2) Done
3) Deleting all of it or just removing the TrackingReminder thing?
4) Not for this addon only, thanks .
5) None
6) WinZip
7) I have 290 addons installed and running on my main and tried about 700 addons. I installed it correctly - trust me.
8) No
9) Does this addon work or not with all of your other addons disabled - not sure yet, lemme test this out . Maybe you know what it is when you read answer #10?
10) Latest patch - WoW-Europe
10) I did, but there is something strange I noticed. When I type for example /trmblmldnl, it says the 'command not found, /help!' line. When I type /tr or /trackingreminder or /tr set Find Minerals, it doesn't say that, but the addon doesn't respond either.

There are many reasons beyond what you might currently understand about addons; all of us were ignorant at one time.

You said one thing that had to do with the problem, and that is that the slash command did not work.

Here are a few ways to attempt to divulge the problem:

Try these things, if you have not already, and let us know.

Just because you think it is installed correctly does not mean it is.

The level of help I can provide is dependent to your account of detail. If all you say to me 'it doesn't work and none of the commands do stuff!', logically, I would assume the addon would be disabled, that is, not enabled. And then we get frustrated at each other because of this lack of detail and wasting each others' time; when getting technical support, the more knowledgeable and complete information you can provide the better support you can acquire.
