Rune Pack  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.0.2
by: Lane [More]

This mod has been taken over by Magus424 and is now hosted on Curse.

4.3 TOC update Dec 2

Runes are reordered to better support Post 4.0 usage.

NEW VIDEO:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUTE7gjbD8I
Lots of people have wanted to see a video of how this works.

This is a simple rune tracking mod heavily based on Rune Hero.
When you use a rune it moves out to the left or right and fades then slowly moves back to the center when it is ready to use. The idea is to always have one place to check for your runes. If the box is empty dump some runic power. You should have close to one GCD left before your rune is ready when it crosses the border of the box. In a future release I may change the color of the box border when there is one GCD left before a rune is ready.

This mod uses custom rune art based on the runes on the Ebon Blade that you receive at the end of the death Knight start area. In a future release I may include options to change the rune art.

Thanks to the Elitist Jerks forums for inspiration and ideas.

Enjoy!

NOTE: This project is a work in progress, please leave feedback.

Version 2.0.1 - added hide default runes checkbox as requested.

Version 2.0 - wired for wow 4.0

Version 1.5.2 - updated version number to work with 3.1

Version 1.5.1 - I finally added slash command support. /RunePack or /Runepack or /runepack will open the RunePack configuration page.

Version 1.5 - Fixed a reported bug about saving Runic Power state and changed the way I save/load variables. Also, changed the background texture to fix an alignment problem that was probably only bothering me.

Version 1.4 - Big changes on the configuration. If you don't delete your saved variables you may get an error when you run it for the first time. adjust the location and scale and it should run fine after that. Now includes OOC opacity and background opacity sliders.

Version 1.3.2 - 2 small changes. I made my own frame background art. I think it looks a lot better and it might make the overlaps easier to see. I also let the scale be infinitely adjustable instead of size increments.

Version 1.3 - Big release! Finally have a working control panel UI. All options are controlled on the Interface > Addons menu now. You can unlock the frame and drag it anywhere you want. You can Hide the Runic Power number as requested :) and you can adjust the scale via a slider. Enjoy!

Version 1.2.2 - Whoops introduced a bug in 1.2.1 that kept you from moving the addon. fixed in 1.2.2

Version 1.2 - New rune art! I cleaned up my original art a lot and stylized the runes a little more. I also hide the default rune bar now.

Version 1.1 - Added outlining to the runic power number to make it more readable on certain game surfaces. Also, added commented code to trigger additional runic power color changes for IBF and UB.

Tranparency Settings

Hey, I was wondering if it was possible if you could make it so that it won't fade unless you're out of combat and all your runes are off cooldown.

Also, when I check "Hide Runic power", it comes back when I relog.

Other than that, I can say this is currently my favourite Rune monitoring addon.

Request for screenshots

Hey any of you guys that have downloaded this mod and are using it I'd like to see screenshots of your whole UI. I'm curious about where on the screen people are placing it and what kind of opacity settings different folks use.

Exclamation Ver. 1.4 Released!

I added the requested background opacity control and out of combat fading. They can both be adjusted in the control panel. Unfortunately this required some big changes and you may get an error if you do not delete your saved variables file.

The file you need to delete is:
World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<account name>\SavedVariables\RunePack.lua

Even if you don't delete it you should only get the error once.

This addon seems great and simple. Also your new addon concept looks awesome, when can we expect a beta or release of Deathboard?

the addon u are working on seems nice.

But it looks simple and very good

Deathboard!

I started sketching concepts for my next addon, Deathboard: the Death Knight dashboard. It will be a small display area that will include a Runic Power number just like the one in RunePack, a Disease tracker and an area to see what DK procs are up like Cinderglacier and Sudden Doom.

First just the addon:

This is the addon on top of RunePack with a bunch of comments about how each area works.

If your RunePack doesn't look like that grab the update! I changed the background image.

well

i think that the direction of this addon should be a simple one, because thats better sometime.
and the disease tracker would be great if u could do that, but is better do make it separate so if u want it,u take it,but u can still have the original runepack(which is a simple and efective addon, thats how it should remain and evolve)
great job and ty for the new upgrade

Thank you!

It becomes better. The "click through" function is a surprise.
"addon level S5" Equiped it, the Dk will become more powerful.

Sounds good. I use SCT myself. I was just thinking of a 1 stop shop to look for everything. I play on a 37" LCD real close. So I can only focus on part of the screen at a time.

And you don't have to tell me about feature bloat. My addons can't be customized one bit. Somewhat because I'm lazy. Somewhat because they work the way I like and I'm lazy :-)

500% agreed.

Very well done. I've recommended this to all my guildies.

And now for suggestions: Can you put special dknight procs on the bottom of this?

Thank you for the wonderful work!
Hmmmmm, That actually isn't bad suggestion but I use MSBT MikScrollingBattleText for that right now. I'm not sure I could add the deep features like sound and animation that he already has without really bloating the addon.

Let me think about interesting ways to display those kinds of things. You aren't the first person to ask for some more indicators. I actually took the Sudden Doom indicator out of RuneHero when I first started this.

very nice

ok i register just so i can say what i think about your addon
i tryed all the addons for runes on my dk and from all this is almost perferct:P
the others show bars but got too many bar type addons already, others shows only the runes with cd on them but is kind,,, to look at numbers to see ok so i have 4 sec on unholy and 2 sec on unholy so next is deathstrike
Your addon is simple because of the rune movement wich i think is perfect,u can see in advance which moves u can do.
So good job m8 and keep it coming with improvements.
What i would like to see maybe a fade out while not in combat.
ty for making the addon
