PlayerScore / GearScore  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.0.01
by: Mirrikat45 [More]

PlayerScore Overview
PlayerScore is the next evolution of GearScore and aims at providing a utility infinitely more useful then just the score of a player's equipment. PlayerScore provides raid leaders with a wealth of instant knowledge such as

  • Complete Raiding History - Allows you to view an easy to read breakdown of a player's raiding history including every boss kill and current top-tier raiding progression.
  • Equipment Layout - Well designed layout allows you to manually check a player's gear quickly and easily. Advanced item tooltips make spotting bad items even easier with flags for enchantments, gems, and reforging.
  • Primary Stats - Shows you a break down of the stats a player is gearing for. This provides a great way for raid leaders to make sure player's aren't stacking spell pen, or have 200% hit rating, or DKs gearing for Agility.
  • Talent Spec - View a player's current build. You can also flag talents as bad for a specific spec and have PlayerScore notify you in the future when a player is using those talents.
  • Automatic Character Auditing - PlayerScore will display a list of flags for when players have missing or bad gems & enchantments; bad talent specs; missing equipment; wearing equipment for another spec or class; using pvp items; or riding TRH.
  • Player Ratings - PlayerScore uses our online servers and custom anti-abuse technology to allow players to rate eachother on a thumbs up or down basis. This allows you to easily spot players who don't get along well with others or just plain suck.
PlayerScore also provides a set of very extensive options. Almost every single feature can be disabled to save memory or increase performance. You can also disable features to save space and only provide the information you care about most. You can also run the addon in "Lite Mode" which will disable the entire GUI showing only information on player tooltips.

This will prevent the addon from breaking when the next wow patch goes live.
Some bug fixes are aimed specifically at the PTR version of wow.

While ratings for your guild will be shared amongst your guild mates, but may not be shared globally.

4.6.00 - May 10th, 2011
* Fixed some bugs with the chat filters.
* Modified Item Score calculations to determine PvP Item Score of an item.
* News tab has been scrapped to make room of a future feature.
* Keybinding Option has been added.
* Introduction of PvP GearScore

* Fixed a bug that cuased redundent and usless database operations whenever a player entered/exited an instance of any kind.
* Masterloot mode will no longer display players from previous instance groups.
* Character Claiming for
* Quick Rate Mode! In previous versions of the addon, it would become difficult to rate players at the end of a dungeon because they would quickly leave the party.

The new Quick Rate Mode attempts to remedy this by displaying a small window whenever the user exits a 5-man dungeon. There is now an option in the options menu that can disable this feature. You can also type "/psrate" at any time to open the window and rate party members. Due to previous limits within addon, only players who have been scanned by the addon at some point since the last login will appear in the quick rate frame. Finally, all players who join your party at some point during the instance will be listed in the Quick Rate Frame. This means players who join and are then vote-kicked or abandon the instance will appear for you to rate.

The Quick Rate Mode will display each Player's Name (Colored by Class), their GearScore, and Thumbs Up/Down for rating. In addition an Icon will be displayed for viewing the negative and positive factors in a player's score.

The system has been modified to queue that inspection when it becomes available. This should allow you to use the PlayerScore GUI even
when Quick-Scan mode is enabled.

*It is now possible to obtain "OVER 9000" GearScore.
*Quick Scan mode has doubled in speed over the last version. Total is now 4 times faster then the original. As a result, it has been enabled by default.
*Added "Verbose" mode which is on by default. This will show missing gems/enchants/talents/and bad equipment on the tooltip!
*Fixed Localization Errors
*Updated Russian Local (Thanks StingerSoft!)
*Updated Raid Difficulty Chart

4.1.03 - January 18th, 2010

*Fixed a bug in GearScore Calculations for Cataclysm Items. Most players will stay at about the same score, while those in top-tier equipment will receive a noticeable drop.
*Playerscore will now scan at more then double the speed as previous versions. However, the scan speed is still based on your latency. In addition, if you clear your item cache (which occurs automatically after a patch.) then scans may be slow for a few hours while your item cache repopulates.
*The info displayed in the tooltip when mouseing over yourself will now always display the most recent information. Previously it was only displaying information from the online database.

*You can now view "Equipped Average Item Level" in the Equipment Pane.
*You can now view "Equipped Average Item Level" on the mouse-over tooltip when you have Quick-Scan mode enabled. You can enable this option in the options menu. We will try to update our database so that AIL info is available on mouse-over at all times.

4.1.02 - December 31th, 2010

*Fixed bug on line 648 for new installations.
*Fixed a bug on line 1215 involving a nil value.
*Updated Chinese Localization (Thanks wowuicn!)

Thanks, mods like this will usually have one or two incompatibilities, i'll download "Examiner" and see what I can do to improve campatibilty.

Actually, after looking into this I cant seem to replicate the problem. At first I thought you were using one of the pre 0.8 versions but i cant get the problem to replicate there either. I belive it must be some other addon you have.

Thank you so much. I apologize for not having any localization yet. I'm actually fairly new at LUA and am trying to absorb as much as possible. I do plan to add localizations eventually!

GearScore + TipTac isn't perfect yet, but much better than it was. With the current build, if I hover over a person it'll do the jump under the health bar maybe 2 or 3 times then stabilize, then maybe do it one more time. The author of TipTac is looking at TipTac for other problems, so hopefully the two of you can get it so that it's perfect.

Also, for some reason, it's still displaying double talents...

Yeah, I was goign to add that in, but I'm waiting to hear back from TipTac... I still want mine to display if the player is out of range and recieves the information from another player with the mod.

As for the problem with it jumping up and down, i'm going to rewrite my Tooltip hooks to wait for GameTooltip:Show instead of GameTooltip:SetUnit('unit'). (but i have to change alot of shit to get that to work) hopefully this will work.

The next version of this mod wont be out for a while, because I'm re-writing alot of the code and including Database and Tables to remember certain number of the last players scores, to increase speed and reduce resources.

Cool mod, suggested idea

This looks like a cool mod and I'm excited to start using it. I'm an officer in a guild that does loot councel for raiding. We try to consider who items are the biggest upgrade for. Some people are loot whores and will swap out gear for an item they really want. Sometimes we catch it, sometimes we don't.

Is there a way you can make this mod remember everyones gear? It could have a guild filter or something so it doesnt remember everyone I ever group with.
Can you make this mod tell me who an item is the biggest upgrade for? You could have it trigger with a /roll or /w Bailie I want that item. (key phrase)

funny.... i had the same idea today. for each item it would make a loot priority list, and would also serve as a master looter assignment, and roll announcer/tracker gui. it would also keep a data base of all known loot the raider has and warn the user if they roll on something it deems unnecessary. i was planning on posting this description on the forums, but since its been brought up here, ill wait to see if mirri wants to implement anything. its quite a stretch for a feature request, but who knows =D

Ugh, you guys are killing me lol!
I love these ideas, and will try to implement a simple Tooltip idea to work for these ideas....

Because I'm rewriting the current version in a Module type environment I can easily pull the Talent Trees from players so that IF YOU ARE MASTERLOOTER (Or have the option turned on) and mouse over an item on a corpse it might look like this: (

-------------------------------------
Amani Sacrificial Dagger
One-Hand Dagger'
10 - 20 Damage Speed 2.00
(7.5 damage per second)
Durability 35/35
Requres Level 12
GearScore 5

Best for:
#1: Rogualot
#2: Hunterdin
------------------------------------

It would determine who the gear is best for by determining the classes that would use it, then which one gets the highest upgrade.

What do you guys thinK?
As for the Roll Announce I guess I could make it So if you CTRL Clikc a loot item it would be like:

[Raid] [Arxkanite]: ROLL FOR [Amani Sacrificial Dagger]
[Raid] [Arxkanite]: Best Upgrade for: Rogualot
[Raid] [Arxkanite]: SHould be used by: Rogues, Warriors, or Hunters.

What do you guys think? I think that both of these versions of your ideas keep in the spirit of GearScore being simple and not bogged down with GUI.

This might take a while to impliment, and because I'm adding things in modules might not be released with Version 1.0.00 but could be added later when i complete it.

Looking forward to yoru input.

That seems pretty great!

I'd like to say that in my opinion (which you're free to ignore if you want) if an author is going to add Titan support, they should also include FuBar and LibDataBroker support too... Just my opinion of covering all your bases, because usually if you add one, people from the other camps will request support and you either have to refuse, or go back and add it - so why not include it from the start to eliminate the foreseen problem.

Lol, I forgot all about "FuBar" and w/e LibDataBroker is (???). I rely on you guys to point that info out to me. (And good job!). Although... I should point out that you only increase the time for the next version lol. This will take considerable amount of time to implement. Just Dismantling the damn Recount Code to inject my own information is taking way longer then I thought.

Does anyone have a good web resource on how to create support for these mods?

Finally I found a problem with the original plan to include a "who is this best for"... in that trying to memorize the gear items of everyone in a raid may put a drain on system resources... but i'll keep looking into it because i like this idea.

I like the simplicity of this mod...

I've deleted so many mods because the author decided to pack way more into them than they needed. This mod makes it easy to see in a nutshell how well geared someone is, and I love it.

If you want information on who a dropped item would be best for, it should be modularized into a separate mod that can be installed or not as the user desires.

My two bits

Thanks Mirrikat

i really should let someone else answer this, because i don't know the technical difference. but visually and functionally it is the same as titan/fubar. i guess the advantage is that your not bound to a single display. there is at least 8 LDB displays out there (dockingstation, statblock, carousel, fortress, chocolatebar, buttonbin, ninjapanel, and even titan panel) and most plugins have been ported now. basicly fubar is old news, and titan panel is only viable because it added LDB support. just do a search for broker and they all show up.

LDB support is a non-issue. I can provide Mirrikat with whatever help he requires to create the plugin, even if he has a working Titan one. Porting is really trivial
