OnScreenHealth  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.3.0.1
by: Dridzt, Phanx

OnScreenHealth

OnScreenHealth provides simple text displays of health and power for you, your vehicle, your pet, and your target.

It additionally shows your combat state, combo points on your target, your target’s target’s name, and your class’s secondary resource (such as Holy Power).

Type “/osh” to open the options panel, or browse to it in the standard Interface Options window.

Not completed

  • Localization (you can help by visiting the link and submitting translations for your language)
Changes
  • WoW API updates for MoP (GetSpecialization etc)
  • Support for all secondary resources.
combo points, runes, chi, eclipse, holy power, shadow orbs, soul shards|burning embers|demonic fury
  • Support for ClassColors.
  • Switch from event based processing to update based processing, with adjustable throttle.
Some optimization pending but (a) with Blizzard's move to predictive hp / power updates,
events don't fire half as often as needed for smooth updates (b) some resources don't fire UNIT_POWER
or other power related events at all (eclipse, soul shards|embers|fury, shadow orbs etc)

The combo point error is an easy fix. What else isn't "working as it should"?

... Before you post next time, how about reading the comment at the top of the comment page from the addon author? I just said that the one issue in 3.x will be fixed soon, and asked the previous commenter what other issues he was experiencing. Other than combo points (which I hadn't noticed because I'm not currently playing a combo point class) the addon is working fine for me. If there's some specific problem (other than combo points) which needs to be fixed, please let me know. In general though, I do NOT post "updates" just to increment the TOC interface number.

3.0.2.15 should fix the combo points error. I also removed support for LibSharedMedia-2.0 (it's ancient and 3.0 has been available for a long time now) and the various MobHealth incarnations (they're no longer needed, as Blizzard now provides the actual health values for everything). This version is completely drycoded (not tested in-game) because I'm at work right now. Feel free to report any errors you may encounter.

Also, although the previous two posters have implied there is some issue with WoW 3.x beyond the combo point issue, I have not experienced any issues myself while using this addon on a shaman and a hunter since the patch. If you have a specific problem to report, please do so using the bug report tracker. Thanks!

Any possibility of adding frequent updates for player/pet power? I'm working on hacking something in right now for it, but it would be very nice to see realtime power updates in the releases.

Edit: I can phrase things correctly after 14 hours at work, I swear.

/osh colors health max. When the color window pops up, and I choose color it just wont react when I click 'okay'.

M8 im using this addon long time and i love it. Now the combo pts are still buged. If i turn them on they are ok, work fine, but when i want to disable them i get this error, + i get only 2 combo pts to show on some mobs when i fight and the options is off and u have restarted wow. Also if u enable combo pts and then disable them they will still work and get this error.

[2008/10/26 04:04:20-1951-x1]: OnScreenHealth-3.0.2.17\OnScreenHealthOptions.lua:218: attempt to call method 'EventIsRegistered' (a nil value)

also at that line 218 u have this:
else
if self:EventIsRegistered("PLAYER_COMBO_POINTS") then
self:UnregisterEvent("PLAYER_COMBO_POINTS")
end

Now as i know this line was change on many addons that show combo points in to UNIT_COMBO_POINTS. Im saying this coz like this PLAYER_COMBO_POINTS Pitbull also didnt work, LibDogTag also needed to change that line and some other addons so they show Combo pts properly.

Now i replaced all PLAYER_COMBO_POINTS with
Code:
if not self:IsEventRegistered("UNIT_COMBO_POINTS") then
self:RegisterEvent("UNIT_COMBO_POINTS", "UpdateCP")
end
self:UpdateCP()
else
if self:EventIsRegistered("UNIT_COMBO_POINTS") then
self:UnregisterEvent("UNIT_COMBO_POINTS")
Now if i log in with combo pts option off its off and doesnt show 2 or 1 combos on target. If u turn option on it shows CP on target, now if u disable after u have enabled and lets say killed 1 mob i still get that error in previous post and the CP options is still on all tho the spot is unchecked mean off. But if u make at that point reload UI it wont shot the CP and will work as off. So how to fix that 218 line 'EventIsRegistered' (a nil value)?

The remaining issues with combo points were an oversight on my part; I did not update the options code. I will upload a fixed version shortly; in the meantime, combo points work just fine if they are enabled when you log in. I am curious, though, why you would ever want to toggle combo points on the fly?

Sounds like an issue with an outdated copy of an embedded library. It's likely that another addon is loading before OnScreenHealth (generally speaking, on most systems, addons load in alphabetical order) and its library copies are being used. Please try logging in with nothing except OnScreenHealth enabled and see if the problem still occurs. If it does, then I am sorry to say there isn't much I can do for you besides pass the issue along to the authors of the library OnScreenHealth uses for configuration.
