SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Raidframes are messy

Hola...

if i change the position or anchors of my raidframes results may vary.
Mostly it looks absolutely messy with diagonal disoriented frames.
Is it a bug or what's up there??

And what should i do to change the frames from this

Is it possible to change the borders on buffs/debuffs to a 1pixel border by editing the LUA-file? Can't really find the line to edit, assuming it's the LUA-file named "auras" in the module-folder?

This sounds to me like a Secure Frame issue. Myselves I probably have never noticed this behaviour as I am using other Addons which disable right clicking off, so I am not sure if SUF can be made to not do this. You might try not using black/white-listing for Buffs/Debuffs, maybe this works. The problem is for Buffs since a patch some while ago either filtering is supported or
clicking off buffs, but not both at the same while. Myselves I came to terms that I never can click off buffs and have to use macros for this in the meanwhile, as filtering buffs/Debuffs is a "must have" feature for me. And appearently filtering buffs/Debuffs -> no click-off, no way to get around it.

There is no official bugfix for this yet, but on the ACE Shadowed Unit Frames Forumthread a fix is written. Check the post from Santiel on

It explains how to fix it. The reason why it was not found before is, this problem only happens with hunters, and probably the SUF author has no hunter, I guess.

3D Portrait Anomaly

I switched to Shadowed Unit Frames from Pitbull, because of the lesser memory usage and slightly better configuration window. Right now I'm trying to display the 3D portrait in the upper half of my player UI bar, however, instead of getting say a head shot of my character, I get the swirling purple mist that is the Windwalk enchant because the portrait is zoomed incredibly far in. Is there a way of modifying my options or say modifying a UI file to force the portrait to zoom out again?

I have the feeling that I will have to give up on PB4 since the dude just doesn't want to add boss frames, but when I tryed to replicate all the functionality I have in PB4 I found some points where I could really use some improvements.

- I would like to have by default both Left Text and Right Text for empty frame.
- I would like to be able to select more exact places for raid icons, or any other indicators, example: "Top Center of the Health Bar" instead of center of the entire frame.
- I am really forced to modify the entire graphics of the target/focus/boss frames, since I was using a "IsMouseOver()" function to test if I mouseover that frame, and display the CurPower/MaxPower instead of "Level/Race/Class".

At this point I have both pb and shadowed enabled, and I use Shadowed only for boss frames. But the few things that I can't configure in this addon will make me redesign everything to make more text space, since I can't make use of the "IsMouseOver()" function.
If there is a way to do this with this addon in its current state, I would really appreciate it if you could tell us hbow exactly. (step by step for lua noobs pls, or code example).

Reverse Bar Direction

Am I just not seeing it in the options but I don't see anywhere where you can have the bar deplete in a reverse direction (From Left to Right instead of the standard right to left). The UI I'm working on has plans for the Player and Pet Bars to Deplete in the opposite direction and I can't seem to find the option to do so.

If there's no option, is there a way to do so in the Lua file for those 2 frames and could someone help me out in where to edit that at?

so i have this addon and love it, but i recently rolled a hunter and am finding i need to set focuses alot on him. and when i right click a portrait, i dont get a "set focus" option, does this remove/change where it goes?

I was just wondering if there was any change of you putting a cooldown timer on buff/debuff on the auras?? like "pitbull"

I have tried "omnicc" but I don't like I dont want cooldown timer on my bars I use "sexycooldowns" for that....

I would really like it and I thing other will too??? if not thats cool going to use the addon anyway! keep up the great work

I think that it should be an option for changing aura's stack size counter font cuz if u for instance want to use pixel font than hard-used myriad are giving u headache =)))

Hello,
I'm using this addon for a few days, and I'm trying to recreate my current layout with Pitbull4

this in normal state:


and when the mouse is over the frame, show the respective values ​​of total power and total life.. like 140k etc etc.

In this layout I use Pitbull4 with DogTag3..

the difficulty to remaking this in SUF is there no tag that allows me to color the power with the "PowerColor", and the same thing with the character level. there is no tag with the "difficultycolor" function.

can anyone tell me if is possible to add these 2 functions, and how?

Is thera a feature or a bunch of settings that need to be modified to perfection to get a raid with less than 6 people to show up as a party?

For example - I now have my party frames, and my raid frames. When I for example play arenas, I convert to a raid. But I don't want my raid frames to show unless there's more than 5 players in the raid.

Is this possible?

Edit: I found the option to disable certain unitframes in different zones, so that was easy enough to fix!
