Objective Announcer

Version: v5.4.2
by: bantou [More]

Objective Announcer is a simple little addon that announces completed quest objectives to yourself, party, raid, guild or officers, as they are completed, and may include a quest link and additional quest info. It can also be set only to announce quest completion. Now has sound effects for your's and your party and raid member's announcements. And more, try it and see for yourself.

Type /oa or /obja to access options, or simply go to the interface options menu.

Feel free to make suggestions regarding Objective Announcer, and I'll see what I can do.

Hope you enjoy

Includes some Ace3 libraries - many thanks (refer license in Libs folder)

This is a promising little addon, it's nice to have something standalone to perform this function.

If you could add an option to only announce objectives when the quest is complete (e.g. 10/10 or whatever) that would be nice, so I don't always have to spam my group with notification of every single Bear Ass I collect for a quest. Thanks!

Sure can. I was thinking maybe /obja would make a simple and likely unique alternative.

Thanks, that's why I wrote it.

It should only announce when the objective is complete, say at 10/10, but if there are multiple and separate objectives, it will announce once at the completion of each. Are you thinking that it should have as an option only to announce completed quests, rather than the individual objectives?

imho it would be perfect if (optionally) it would announce the completion of each individual objective, e.g. in a quest where i have to collect 5 ears and 5 noses the addon would announce 5/5 ears, 5/5 noses and the completion of the whole quest. no need to announce 1/5 2/5 3/5 etc. tho some may want that, so making it optional could attract possible users (and even more feature requests ).

The functionality is perfect now. I was actually mistaken earlier; for some reason I thought an earlier build of this addon DID announce for 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, etc., but that was actually another similar addon that I had forgotten to delete

Having the option to only announce for quest completion is a great addition, though. Thanks!

Thanks, I think I might be done adding to it

I wasn't sure people would find it easily in the category I originally uploaded it to, if they were looking for it for the first time, and I actually have no idea how to change it's category or merge projects

I'm really not sure why, but this mod doesn't work at all for me =( It's checked in my addons menu, but /oa and /obja do nothing, and it doesn't appear in the Addons tab in the Interface menu.

Even when it's the only mod enabled. But it's obviously on, it's showing up in my list of addons in-game, telling me how much memory it's using. This is really weird =/

Thanks for letting me know about your difficulties. I happen to have a friend who seems to be having a similar issue. I discovered this when testing a new version with sound effects. If, as I suspect, this is the same issue, the new version when released will resolve this. If all goes well, it should be available for download in a few days or so.
