Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Boss frames

Hey,
I noticed some problemes with my bossframes. the first frame works as I wanted to to work, but the 2nd and 3rd doesnt show up. theres just a black box where the frame is suppost to be.

So my first step was to disable the bossframes and try something else, but here comes my real problem:
the options to edit the bossframes is missing (bug in this version?) so right now I cant even get rid of the boss-frame. any ideas how I can disable the frames? (if i have to edit the code myself, fine, just need to know what I have to look for)

/kind regards, Naroc

Edit: found what was wrong. under the global options: "disable default boss frames" was not marked anymore and now by marking that options i got those options back

Chi bar vanished

I mistakenly deactivated my monks chi bar instead of repositing it. Now I can't get it back. Tagging that square does nothing.

After having to delete the saved variables about 15 times to get the mod to show up again over and over, it seems the "hide default group frames" are causing the addon to crash, and not show back up again in either in game, or in the list of loaded addons under interface.

I had the addon "Hidebossframe", which I thought might be causing some kind of conflict, and hence removed it. But the issue still persists. Everything else seems to work just fine as long as I go nowhere near that option. (So far...)

Edit: Also it seems that choosing the font modifier "Monochrome" makes the client crash.

Another quick question: I'm having difficulty getting the border to show hostility/when targeted. Any suggestions?

I have not had any issues with clique+stuf at all. I think this is somehow on your end. :S
I've been having issues as well with Stuf+Clique. For me it often does not want to register my casts done via mousewheel up/down. (I'm a healer and have my Healing Surge bound to wheel down and Unleash Elements to wheel up in Clique).

Every other bind via Clique works, except the mouse wheel binds (most of the time). I've even tried unbinding the camera zoom in/out from the wheel and still does not work most the time.

thanks

*Further investigation had lead me to it being Stuf not having full Clique support, as mousewheel up/down act just like keybinds. (which also do not work with Stuf when done via Clique)

Sorry all, I finally got PTR installed and working.

Not sure if I changed anything with the latest updates that fixed the issues, but both Class Colors and Clique (including mouse wheel actions) seems to be working just fine.

I've also added the option to hide the unit frames during pet battles, but I have not tested it. I'm also sure it will get messy trying to play nice with other alpha changing features.

Should be in the global options, "Hide Stuf During Pet Battles", or something like that.

It's still not working 100% with clique. mousewheel up/down only work IF you edit something in Stuf or rebind within Clique. Once you /reloadui or log in fresh it doesn't work and have to do one of the two things just mentioned.

I've talked with the author of Clique and it treats mousewheel up/down the same as say binding to "shift-w". I've done testing and binding the example "shift-w" works right after it's been bound but after a /reloadui or fresh log in it will just walk my character forwards ignoring the bind "shift-w"

This is the issue. It does not work unless you mess with the in game Stuf options once or re-bind anything within Clique everytime I log in or have to do a /reloadui.

Prolly a silly question but how do I activate the test environment for raidframes?
I can make it show the anchors but not the actual frames so I can apply a style to them.

Buffs

I'm wondering how can I make my buffs able to be cancelled by clicking? I read the description in the buff section and it said ''Buffs can be cancelled by right-clicking the red box''. I'm puzzled as to what this red box is.

Is there a way to set a text pattern that will shorten/abbreviate longer names? So "Madam Vee Luo" would become "M.V. Luo"? Some unit frame addons have specific tags for that (like [name:short] or somesuch) but that didn't work in STUF and the text pattern help didn't seem to have anything for that.
