Tidy Bar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.2
by: danltiger [More]

TidyBar is a compact replacement for your action bars. It retains the design of the standard interface, which reducing the clutter on your screen.

Central Layout: The standard action buttons are centered on the bottom of the screen, with all your additional action buttons stacked above.

Vertical Action Bars: The action bars along the right side of your screen will remain hidden until you hover your mouse over the area.

Bags and Character Buttons: The bag and Character buttons are repositioned to the bottom right corner of your screen, and will remain hidden until you hover your mouse in that area.

Note: A well-known issue occurs when trying to enable or disable an actionbar while in combat; The bars do not reposition themselves until combat has finished. This is unlikely to ever be resolved, being a restriction in Blizzard's UI system; Only Blizzard code may change the position and visibility of a secure frame during combat.

Other Issues:
The stupid rested-state bar isn't positioning itself properly. I haven't had a chance to figure out a fix.

I'm not going to bug you by popping up an ad whenever you hit "Download". If you enjoy this addon and want to send a monetary "Thank You", please visit our Pledgie page by clicking on the button, above.

5.1: ToC bump

4.9:
- TOC Update for WoW 4.3
- Updated Corner Menu artwork

4.8:
- TOC update for WoW 4.2
- Updated for 4.2 UI Changes (Keyring removal, etc)

4.7:
Hopefully fixed the vehicle bar problems when the vehicle is destroyed, AND fixed the Flyout spell bar issue

4.2:
Hopefully fixed the experience bar and corner bar resetting.

---------------------
Ch-ch-ch-changes...
---------------------
3.14: Fixed Pet Bar, as I broke it when fixing shaman bar

3.13: Fixed the shaman totem bar problem. I think.. ;-)

Release 3.5: Main menu (character/spell/etc) buttons will properly stay visible when
the vehicle interface is shown. Fixed some issues with protected function calls.
New corner menu artwork! Hope you like it; I think it makes it look a wee bit
more polished.
---------------------
Release 3.4: Still trying to make sure the bar behaves well during vehicle switching. Added scaling.
---------------------
Release 3.3: Added event monitoring for exiting a vehicle, which will immediately update the bars.
---------------------
Release 3.2: Fixed issue where pet bar background was visible when bottom bars were hidden.
--------------------
Release 3.1: Changed TOC file to reflect the current interface version.
--------------------
Release 3: The side actionbars will now show up (regardless of mouseover) when the user drags an
actionbutton. The mouseover for the bag and mainmenu bars are now linked.
Code cleaned up; Should please my fellow developers. Removed some Runebar
positioning code (which was in there by accident).
--------------------
Release 2: Added mouseover behavior to the inner right-side action buttonbar. Added a
watcher frame under the Bags and Side Buttons to catch the mouseover when the
cursor is between the buttons. Previously, when you moved your cursor into
the narrow gap between the button sets, the buttons would disappear. Also,
removed dependency on Wowace! Slowly but surely, I'm cleaning it up.. ;-)

Release 1: Initial Release

Re: Re: Re: Shaman Crashing

Well, hey, I might have figured it out on my own, but your help saved (at the very least) a few hours of testing.

So, big thanks. You deserve the credit for the fix.

Cool, glad that's fixed. Was driving me insane when it first started happening. Ended up turning each of my addons off one at a time until I finally came across the alphabetically misfortune TidyBar.

One of these days I'll learn LUA to figure this stuff out... :fisttoheavens:

Thanks again for the great addon!

Can't collapse objectives

I am unable to click on the icon with the little arrow under the radar in order to collapse the objectives for quest tracker.
I just started using this addon and love the minimalistic look. Thanks for the work on this.

Re: Can't collapse objectives

The little arrow is probably caught under the hot-spot for the side bar mouseover.

Have you adjusted the scale of Tidy Bar? What kind of screen width do you have? Any other UI adjustments that might change the position of the objectives window?

Re: Re: Can't collapse objectives

It's the UI scale that is causing issue. When it's <1.0 it works with 2560x1440 or if I set resolution to 1280x1024 then it works with any scale number. TidyBar is only addon and I have not changed anything in it.

If you mount a vehicle (use Argent Tourney mounts as an example), the auto-hide behavior of the micro menu is broken. I suspect this is because the default Blizz code removes a few of the micro-menu buttons when it brings up the new vehicle UI.

You'll need to make a few changes to your mod so that the micro menu buttons can appear in their normal place when the user is mounted on a vehicle, and then go back to your mode of display when the user dismounts.

Would this fix be possible?

I really like the idea of your mod - to create something that fits within the default Blizzard UI artwork but is much cleaner.

Another bug: I have one side bar. With Tidy Bar I cannot click on any quest items that are displayed in my objective tracker any more. The hot spot for making the side bar visible is just much larger than it should be.

I'm playing on 1680 x 1050 and I do have my overall UI scale set to be well below 1 (only way to make Blizz default elements usable :P)

The hot-spot for mouse-over is the area for both the action bars, even if your only using one, and you cannot click anything behind it, i have the same problem clicking quest items displayed in the objectives menu, but tidy bar is so awesome i just live with it.

PS: Also using 1680x1050, don't recall UI scale and can't check now, I'm at work

I agree there is great potential for this mod. I can live with the vehicle bug for now, but the side-bar hot-spot issue is a deal breaker at the moment. I hope the developer will have some time to address this.

Also, as a suggestion, I think it would be great if users had a choice or could customize where the micro-menu and bag-menu will display (or whether the bag menu will display at all, for example).

Well, it's not perfect, but I've "fixed" the vehicle bars. The bag buttons will still appear on mouseover, but the main menu buttons will be missing from the corner until you dismount. I'll have to come up with something a little more solid, but this will work fine for the mo'.

Fixed & Updated: Mouseover hotspot for the right action bars. They'll anchor themselves correctly, now. At least, that's the plan...

Thank you!

Now we have a new bug. The hotspots randomly stop working in battlegrounds.. typically after I res or right when I first zone into one. It was a bit inconsistent so I don't konw the exact steps to reproduce the error.

The hotspots for the sidebars, right? Or both side and corner? I just spent a few minutes trying to reproduce the bug, without success.

Try this:

Comment out line 198:
Code:
--SideMouseoverFrame:Hide()
(I think it's 198)

That might have odd consequences, but it might indicate an unexpected event order.
