Neuron  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.9.35
by: Maul, Soyier

Introduction:
Neuron is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon, including even the default Blizzard UI.

Neuron is the continuation of the Ion Action Bars project, however, due to incompatible changes, your profiles from Ion cannot be directly used on Neuron.

Neuron is in active development, and as such there is the possibility of bugs, quirks, and rough edges. Please bear with me as I do my best to make Neuron as stable and full featured as it can be; however, as my time is limited, help and support is always appreciated.

Want to contribute?

Theme Support:
Neuron inherits all theming courtesy of the Masque addon. Neuron has full Masque compatibility, and the theming options found in Masque are quite in-depth, not to mention the robust portfolio of skins made to support Masque. In short, you can make your bars look any way you like!

Features:
  • Neuron features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, last but not least, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Neuron contains a graphical bar editor that allows for nearly endless customization to bar shape, size, orientation, and much more! Further, Neuron has neither the limitations on max number of bars nor on the max number of buttons per bar, as you might find in addons such as Bartender4 or Dominoes.

If the command line is your thing, all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure.

Commands:
Type /neuron alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/neuron state <state>). Type /neuron statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Disclaimer:

Neuron is a fork of the amazing Ion Action Bars addon started by Connor Chenoweth aka Maul, for World of Warcraft Legion and onwards. All credit for the bulk of this addon should go to him accordingly, along with SLOKnightFall for his maintainership throughout the years. I, Soyier, take no credit for the idea or implementation of this addon prior to my adoption of the code in the Fall quarter of 2017.

Yeah something changed in BfA to the way the extra action button caches data and state. I need to sort it out, it's on my todo list :-)
Potentioally related to above:
When I did a quest in Tiragarde Sound (Alliance) where I was to throw bombs at a boat the Extra Action button was the "Leave Vehicle" action. The ony way I managed to complete the quest was to reload UI with Neuron disabled, the I had the correct action in the standard UI, and the leave vehicle button was it's own button.
I think I have had problems with the wrong action being in the "Extra Action button" before too, but I haven't needed to disable Neuron to get past it.
This was last tuesday I think, so during the time with changes that later got backed out, so it's possible it isn't still a problem.

This was fixed in the latest release. I'm 1 step ahead! Have fun :-)

New Release Out!

New Feature!

**You can now track Azerite power, much like you used to track Artifact Power, in the XP Bar!

I'm okay with the revert. Thanks for taking the professional route, Soyier. Somehow, none of those issues affected my particular setup. For now, I'll keep chipping away at it when I have time, to make sure everything's coherent in the code in my performance branch. I'll submit a pull request once it's all good to go.

I'm reverting back to where we were in 0.9.31e until I can work this out. This performance fix will require substantial testing.

This latest release is a tad more glitchy than I had first though. Sadly I'm away at a conference till Sunday so I can't test any code changes I make. I reverted the OnUpdate changes I made, so that should possible fix some of them

@buju you're my eyes and ears for the next 3 days bud :-)

While the performance is vastly improved, there are some new minor issues. We're working through them though. For me, the addon works way better than it did before today. Thanks to Soyier for being so thorough with code review and cooperative with pull requests.

New Big Release

Hey Guys,

With the help of Buju we have just pushed what is the largest performance release of Neuron/Ion in probably 10 years.

Enjoy the extra FPS and the game should be significantly, if not entirely, less choppy.

There's still more than can be done, but this gets us over 50% of the way to what I would call optimized :-)

All credits should go to Buju for the majority of the work!

Hrm, I wasn't aware that that you couldn't keybind the extra action button. It sounds like a bug
