This is a oUF Unit Frame AddOn which was made using the excellent oUF_Caellian Unit Frames (originally based on P3lim work).

This AddOn is a little different in that it uses circles instead of rectangles and the level of transparency is determined by the units health or power.

Why use a circle?

I thought it might be interesting to use a unit frame that actually changes shape depending on the amount of health or power missing. That is as the unit looses health or power the shape of the unit changes from circular to semi circular, etc..

Why mess with the transparency?

The current philosophy of my UI is that I only want information I care about showing. If the target, or my toon is near Max health/power, I don't care. I am only really interested when the unit goes towards zero. As it approaches zero the alpha approaches 1 making the unit more noticeable. The current formula is [1-(min/max)]+.25

What is up with those Castbars?

The castbars should be big and obvious, but still take up a reasonable amount of the screen. I thought I might try (surprisingly enough) a big old circle.

I love your Frames!

I'm currently working on a new type of unit frame (Now completed.. sorta found HERE), but your idea of the 360 degree castframe is an excellent one.

Maybe a request to Haste to allow different directions for castbars?

Hi there,

I like your unitframe layout very much. I think you know some of my UI stuff and I am currently working on my new orb system.

Additionally I want round castbars around my orbs. Sth like this:

If I put the castbar behind my Orb and use SetTexCoord to cut the texture it will work just fine. (This is my advise to your unitframe layout: Put the castbar behind the life and mana orbs, this will look awesome imo.)

But I am currently thinking of creating a castbar that looks like a ring but works like the CooldownFrame. So it should start filling at 0 and keep filling until 360.

Do you think its possible do sth like that? I saw that you found out how to rotatate textures and I know how I can use SetTexCoord to show only Specific areas of a texture. Do you think this could be combined in a way to create a 360 castbar? This would be killer imo .

I am guessing ArcHud or any other HUD may use a system like that.

can't load layout

For some reason I am unable to load your layout but I am able to load ouf_lyn. Am I doing something wrong? Here's the error message I get:

That would be great! This AddOn makes use of oUF (this does all of the heavy lifting in the development of a unit frames addon). I am not aware of a way to get oUF to do that. Until I get enough lua coding under my belt to be able to tackle a project like that I'm going to have to live with the current functionality.

I can certainly put some flags at the top of the .lua file to adjust the sizes of the frames and cast bars, if you think that might help?

If you think it would be helpful I can set something at the top of the file to allow you to configure the size of the castbars/unit frames/raid unit frames. I ran in the arenas with the large castbars and I personally like them, but I could see how you might think they are too big. You would still have to edit the .lua file though..

I actually took the gloss off of the buff/debuff frames. I found that it was obscuring the actual icons. I can also add a variable at the top of the .lua file to turn them on and off if you think that would be helpful?

Yep it is compliant with the development version of oUF. Here are the changes I made this release:

I addressed the aggro indicator by having a thin center ring turn really red when the player gets aggro.
