Encyclopedia is... quite simply that, an encyclopedia, of every living thing you see on your travels.
In the form of a book, Encyclopedia logs all the NPCs (mobs, friendlies, pesky rats, cute squirrels, Mr. Bigglesworth) that you ever target. After you've seen something, you're able to look it up in the encyclopedia at any time in the future, and if it's still in the same place, the Encyclopedia will help you find it again with a nifty tracking feature!
Getting Started with Encyclopedia
Once you've installed the addon, getting started is very easy. It'll only recall things you've seen (targetted), so to give it some data intially, run/fly around your favourite place (Shattrath, for example), and start clicking on things, or go about your daily routine. The closer you are to the NPC when you click them, the more accurate the data will be.
Once you're satisfied, type '/enc' or '/encyclopedia', and it'll bring up the book! Type in any search queries you might have, and press Enter, and it'll perform the search. Double-click on any entries it finds to open the book up to the corresponding page.
From there, you may choose to return, close the book, or track the NPC (using the last known location). Click 'Track' to turn on tracking. The book will now close, and a tracking display will appear. Follow the wings to your destination! Once you arrive, the display will automatically disappear. You may close it prematurely at any time, however, by double-clicking anywhere on the screen.
Current features:
Stores names, levels, health and classifications of NPCs
Stores carbon structure of NPCs (see screenshot)
Stores location and last-seen coordinates of NPCs
Allows searching through NPCs by name
Allows searching through NPCs by place
When searching, those NPCs in your current area are listed first
Your welcome. I actually want to get everyone in the world in that book (I know expectations and all) It's for the rpg in me when I play with my kid. I can just whip out a name and such. But also I like to keep track of the lore and such (hence the personal notes so thanks for that.)
A nice touch might be also adding if they trainer of what ever. I'm all into the knowledge is power bit
The only reason I brought up gatherer was because of all the herbs, mines, and treasures they kept track of and that they had an import data option to upload all the nodes from the world. I think it would just be nice (if I lost everything and had to start over) to have an import option like that. But Ace lib is good

Maybe an option to turn off the picture -if it might help with the memory- Also is there anything you might be able to 'barrow' from gatherer that might help you memory.
I really do like this.
Thanks for the kind words! A few notes:
- The picture itself is stored in the form of a creature ID (which can be humanoid, too), so doesn't actually consume much memory at all.
- Custom notes are due as a feature, only partially implemented at the moment.
- As for Gatherer, I've no idea what that stores these days. Back in the day, it was just herbs - what else does it do now?
- For data sharing, I do plan on using an Ace library... which I can't remember the name of off-hand, but it stores item tags. The intention is to use this to store vendor items.
