Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

That happens anywhere on your UI depending on the UI scale, Stuf's scale, game resolution, and screen resolution. Also can occur if the x/y position has decimal numbers.
My UI scale is 1.0, game/screen resolution is 1920x1080, I can't find an option for Stuf's scale, though I don't know how that'd affect it, and the x/y position has no decimal numbers. I can't work out how to fix this and it's a bit of an annoyance. >.<

There's a bug some years back with Blizz's addon interface support and dynamic options. If Stuf options do not show up, just click another addon's and click back (more than once if needed).

Dunno what's the need for absorb feature now. Other standalone mods been doing it long before Stuf's existence. Does Blizz's default frames have it now?

Stuf and Stuf Raid works independently of each other and are totally different approaches. Therefore cannot copy each other's layout settings.

Yeah, there is no option to change color by whether or not it's uninterruptible. Currently, an "X" shows up next to the spell name if it cannot be interrupted.

Question Raid Manager help

Hi, I am not sure what did I press to hide the raid manager. When I disable SUF, the raid manager is back, but when I turn on SUF, raid manager is not visible anymore (the Right allow on the top left). How do I turn it on again?

Adding Style copy to raid frames.

I would love it if you could copy frame settings in Raidframes like you can in normal frames. I am trying to get my Raid Role frames to match my party frames.

Lightbulb NOT_INTERRUPTIBLE cast bar's color

Hi, Thx for sharing so great unit frames for us, really love it.

I'm a pvper, recently, I notice that there is no options for "NOT INTERRUPTIBLE" cast bar's color.
Only for casting, channeling, fail, success...

I try to add "UNIT_SPELLCAST_NOT_INTERRUPTIBLE" event in Lua and set cast bar color for it alone.

But still it doesn't work at all.

pls help on it. thx a lot.

Hide SPECIFIC frame in combat/target

SO yeah, I am trying to copy the way another user has made it so that his target frame, and ONLY that frame hides in combat or with a target.

I'm randomly having boss frames not showing up. It happens most in old content, like when soloing Cataclysm raids, but it also happens in current content at times. For example, on Tectus, I'm not seeing five boss frames when one of the two Shards splits. Today I went into Iron Docks and on the first boss, there wasn't a boss frame for either the wolf or the orc.

I've checked the settings and have all five boss frames enabled (and, most of the time, they show up) plus they all show up in Config mode so I can't find anything there that might be causing this.

As a few others in this thread have mentioned, I desperately need the absorb display on my unit bars. If I can't get this I will unfortunately have to switch to another addon. And I spent so long setting up the kgPanels >.<

Realy need a absorb Bar for Raiding Highmaul as Example.

Blank Options - I believe that's a bug with Blizzard's option. Some compatibility problem. Just keeping toggling the options until it shows up.

Twitching 3D Portraits - Certain unit frames are time driven instead of event driven. Time driven units must be refreshed periodically to stay up to date. I suggest using non-3D portraits.

Buffs/Debuffs - As you pointed out, other aura addons allow more flexibility than Stuf. Aura mods can be bigger than the entire Stuf mod.

Pet Battles - Sorry, I have no way to test this. I will try on the next PTR.

Rogues - I'll test Rogues next opportunity.

what i have found from having used these frames for 4 years now is that unless you use the /stuf to bring up the stuf options they will be blank

Is there a way to get rid of the yellow tick mark on the cooldown pie? see:



the top buffs are StUF and the bottom are Raven. I want to use Stuf buffs but i hate the yellow tick mark so for now im using raven. can i get rid of that yellow mark to make the cooldown pie look like raven? im positive its stuf and not anything like omnicc.
