Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.4.002a
by: totalpackage [More]
** WoWI's Pick of a Week
** YouTube Intro
** YouTube Starter Guide
** Users' UI with Stuf

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

Even if I uncheck the Stuff UF Pet Timer check box in the pet options, the timer keeps showing up. I had to comment out everything to do with it in the lua file in order for it to stop showing.

GetRealmName | Help

Hi there

So, i just started out using Stuf and for the first time i went to try out some custom Lua

My problem is that i would like to use the function "local realmName = GetRealmName() to insert as a part of text under my name so i can always see other peoples realms.

But when i put in the code
Code:
function (unit)
  local realmName=GetRealmName()
return 'realmName'
end
only the word realm, comes out. what am i doing wrong? Why doesn't it check for the realm (I'm very new to this whole Lua world)
As a final result the line of text should look something like:

90 | Frostmane

where the colour of the level is equivalent to the difficulty as it is with other Unit Frame addons like Pitbull.

Thanks in advance!

Seconding this question.

Or alternatively, a way to set a separate frame strata to the backdrop.

Party frame buffs.

I have my party frames set up to show max 5 buffs, that are only cast by me. I see this as a nice way to keep track of my hots and stuff when I'm healing. However I really don't need to see buffs like "Totemic Wrath" or "Ancestral Vigor". Is there any way to filter out (ie. blacklist) some buffs so that they wouldn't show?

I know there's an option like this for the raid frames, and it's really awesome, but it would be really nice to have this for the party frames as well.

Hey!

I'm afraid I have no answer for you guys. Though, I have other questions!

First, STUF get me some weirdass popping bar on top of my screen, as you may see on that screenshot: http://hpics.li/0044263
How could I get rid of that?

Second and more importantly, as someone else already asked on this same topic; is there any way to make the Raid Frame look the same as the Party Frame - or to make the Party Frame apparent in 5-men Raids (such as the arenas, actually).

If you can answer those two things, you'll make me the happiest player on WoW. I'm counting on you!

I can't for the life of me figure out how ButtonFacade (Masque) is supposed to work with this addon. I went so far as looking through the lua (which I'm not at all fluent in), and I've pulled out some of these lines:

In the options lua:
do -- setup options for grouped colors
local keys={
powercolor={ MANA=0, RAGE=1, FOCUS=2, ENERGY=3, HAPPINESS=4, RUNES=5, RUNIC_POWER=6, },
reactioncolor={},
}
local function getcolor(info)
local _, colorgroup, key = infobreakdown(info)
local dbk = db.global[colorgroup][ keys[colorgroup][key] ]
if not dbk then
return 0, 0, 0, 0
else
return dbk.r, dbk.g, dbk.b, dbk.a
end
end
local function setcolor(info, r, g, b, a)
local _, colorgroup, key = infobreakdown(info)
local dbk = db.global[colorgroup][ keys[colorgroup][key] ]
r, g, b, a = shorten(r), shorten(g), shorten(b), shorten(a)
if not dbk then
db.global[colorgroup][ keys[colorgroup][key] ]={ r=r, g=g, b=b, a=a, }
else
dbk.r, dbk.g, dbk.b, dbk.a = r, g, b, a
end
Stuf:UpdateElementLook("global")
end

local oargs = options.args.global.args

local lbf = LibStub("LibButtonFacade", true)
if lbf then
oargs.lbfskin={
name=L["ButtonFacade Skin"], type="select", values=lbf:ListSkins(), set=set, get=get, order=12.1,
hidden=function(info) return db.global.aurastyle ~= 3 end,
}
oargs.aurastyle.values[3] = L["ButtonFacade"]
oargs.aurastyle.desc = L["Switching from ButtonFacade requires a reload."]
end

local cargs = oargs.classcolor.args
local classcolorshide
if CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS then
classcolorshide = function()
return not db.global.nocustomclass
end
cargs.help={
name=L["Use !ClassColors"], type="toggle", width="double", order = 0.1,
get = function() return not db.global.nocustomclass end,
set = function(info, value)
db.global.nocustomclass = not value
if value then
Stuf.CCC_CB = Stuf.CCC_CB or function()
for class, color in pairs(CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS) do
local dgcc = db.global.classcolor[class]
dgcc.r, dgcc.g, dgcc.b = color.r, color.g, color.b
end

end

end
end,
}
end
for class, color in pairs(RAID_CLASS_COLORS) do
cargs[class]={ name=class, type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, hidden=classcolorshide, }
end

local pargs = oargs.powercolor.args
for power, index in pairs(keys.powercolor) do
pargs[power]={ name=getglobal(power) or power, type="color", set=setcolor, get=getcolor, order=index, }
end

local rargs = oargs.reactioncolor.args
for i = 1, 8, 1 do
local key = _G["FACTION_STANDING_LABEL"..i]
if key then
rargs["faction"..i]={ name=key, type="color", set=setcolor, get=getcolor, order=i, }
keys.reactioncolor["faction"..i] = i
end
end
rargs["faction9"]={ name=L["Non-PVP Friendly"], type="color", set=setcolor, get=getcolor, order=9, }
keys.reactioncolor["faction9"] = 9
rargs["faction10"]={ name=L["Non-PVP Enemy"], type="color", set=setcolor, get=getcolor, order=10, }
keys.reactioncolor["faction10"] = 10

local aargs = oargs.auracolor.args
aargs.none={ name=L["none"], type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=1, }
aargs.Magic={ name=L["Magic"], type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=2, }

aargs.Buff={ name=L["Buff"], type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=6, }
aargs.MyBuff={ name=L["My Buff"], type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=7, }

local runeargs = oargs.runecolor.args
runeargs.BLOOD={ name=COMBAT_TEXT_RUNE_BLOOD or "Blood", type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=1, }
runeargs.UNHOLY={ name=COMBAT_TEXT_RUNE_UNHOLY or "Unholy", type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=2, }
runeargs.FROST={ name=COMBAT_TEXT_RUNE_FROST or "Frost", type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=3, }
runeargs.DEATH={ name=COMBAT_TEXT_RUNE_DEATH or "Death", type="color", set=set, get=getcolororblank, order=4, }
end
It looks like the global options tab is supposed to have a select menu to change the style of all the auras. This menu does not exist.

Could this be due to ButtonFacade's update into Masque? Masque's tried to include some backwards compatibility, but I can see it not working very well if Stuf is trying to take ButtonFacade's options and insert it into Stuf's options, instead of allowing ButtonFacade to re-style Stuf's auras on its own.

The "..." means the frame containing the text is to small to show all the text. Go change width and/or heigh, or change font size for that text box.

Any plans for making auras behave more like the default blizzard ui? E.g. your own buffs/debuffs on target being bigger than the rest?

I had this issue too, managed to get around it by typing "/stufraid" this brings up the stUF window (without stUF raid options).

Close that.

Type "/stufraid" again, should bring up the stUFraid options panel. Or the stUF options panel, but there will be a stUFraid tab too. At the bototm of the list, if I recall correctly.

I also, have a slight issue though:

When entering a text string for "[curhp] [nl] [curmp]" it displays the current HP fine, then adds "...". I assume this means the infotag for New Line [nl], is incorrect? But the infotag guide seems to indicate [nl] should work, and by default, another text line uses [nl]. (Though I have unfortunately deleted that line to edit it to some other function.

Any ideas about the New Line tag?

So, i've been trying to add a 1px border to my hp/mp bars, but anytime i add them they come out REALLY big, is there anyway to scale them down or do i have to find/script a certain border that?

In times of many absorbtion shields there are (holypaladin mastery, disc priest, deathstrike, shieldbarrier, malkorok, tortos hc,...), I want to track them like the "incoming heal" feature. The normal HP-bar can show the amount of absorbtion additionally. It can displayed like an extra health in another color.

If the sum of the current health and the amount absorb is greater than the max. health, the absorb-bar can growth in the reverse direction on top of the hp-bar. Compare it like the HP-bar in League of Legends.
