MoveAnything! - continued for WotLK by Wagthaa @ Earthen Ring EU

MoveAnything! is an User Interface(UI) customization addon. It enables you to move, scale, hide and alpha blend just about anything in WoW, making customizing your UI a walk in the park.

In order to take full advantage of MoveAnything you should bind a key to at least the "Move frame - Safe" key binding and possibly "Hide frame - Safe" and "Reset frame - Safe" as well. This can be done in Blizzards keybinding interface. MoveAnything will be at the bottom of the keybinding list if you've just installed it. These keybindings all operate on the frames that are currently under your mouse cursor, whereas the Safe ones tries to be a bit smart as to which frame you actually want.

Kudos to Skrag, Jason & Vincent for earlier versions.

Quick Reference for v3.3-10

The MA window:
Move - toggles moving of frame
Hide - toggles hiding of frame
Reset - undoes MA's changes to frame and removes frame from list if custom
UCS - Use Character Settings - toggles character specific settings on/off
TT - Toggle Tooltips - toggles tooltips. Press Shift when mousing over elements to reverse this behavior
MF - Modified Frames - toggles whether to only show modified frames in the list
CE - Collapse/Expand - collapses/expands all categories
Sync - Synchronizes all frames modified by MoveAnything
Close - closes the MA window. Ctrl-Shift-Alt click reloads ui
Reset All - resets all frames in the current profile

Interacting with the movers:
Left-Drag - moves frame
Left-Drag the small buttons - scales frame
Right-Click - stops moving frame
Shift Right-Click - toggles visibility of the mover, while still allowing modifications to the frame
Mousewheel - adjusts alpha blend. This feature is still in it's early stages and will not work for all frames!

Key Bindings:
Toggle MA window - toggles MoveAnything's main window
Move frame - Safe - toggles moving of the first found parent frame, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Hide frame - Safe - hides frame at cursor, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Reset frame - Safe - resets frame at cursor, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Move frame - Exact - toggles moving of the exact frame at cursor
Hide frame - Exact - hides the exact frame at cursor
Reset frame - Exact - resets the exact frame at cursor
Update frames - updates all frames influenced by MA

Slash Commands:
/move - toggles MA window
/move framename - toggles moving of frame named "framename"
/hide framename - toggles visibility of frame named "framename"
/unmove framename - resets frame named "framename"
/movelist - lists profiles
/moveimport profileName - import settings from profile into the current profile
/moveexport profileName - exports settings into named profile
/movedelete profileName - deletes named profile

/move, /unmove and /hide accepts several shorthands: last, minimap, buffs, player, target, targetoftarget, focus & pet.

Current issues:
If you exit the vehicle while in combat the PlayerFrame can't be moved from it's default top left position until you leave combat. This will of course never be seen if using a unitframe mod.
ReputationWatchFrame height and also frames generated dynamicly by some addon's in general, may need a frame sync upon entering the game. Bind a key to "Update Frames" if this is an issue for you.

3.3-10.b4:
fixed an issue with scaling elements that are detached from their relative point as well as parent
new procedure for attaching movers to frames. stops frames from jumping, but those last few frames that were jumping may still move a pixel or two
added the main bar leave vehicle button to the list, this is another screen element than the one that appears on the vehicle bar

3.3-10.b3:
fixed an issue with ReputationWatchBar mouseover
fixed toggling hide on frames that aren't currently available
fixed issue with bank bags

3.3-10.b2:
added Chat Channel Configuration, Color Picker, Currency Options, Equipment Manager & Reading Materials to the list
fixed issue which made MA not play nicely with tooltip addons
added Tooltip - Bag Item back to the list after sorting the issues with it

3.3-10.b1:
updated frame list, including LFD related frames
unprotected frames can now be moved while in combat
unitframes hidden by MA will no longer unhide themselves
added /hide command to toggle frame visibility
certain frames that was jumping to their default position will no longer do so
blizzard bags no longer act as if they have a will of their own
significantly less chance of taint. I would say it's gone but I've been proven wrong on that account before
fixed the issue where resetting a UI Panel would stop escape from showing the game menu
better support for more UI element types. FontStrings and Textures can now be moved among others
added X and H buttons to the Nudger for stopping moving and hiding the frame respectively
frames moved by this version will now modify the original position points instead of using the lower left corner. this means that many frames functionality won't be broken by MA so easily
full position restore information stored before moving a frame, as a result reloads should be required much less frequently when resetting frames. also to save memory restore positions are no longer stored between game sessions
siblings that are positionally dependent on either a frame or subframe are detached prior to moving, e.g. moving the minimap cluster will detach the durability action figure, the tracker and the vehicle seat indicator in advance so they'll stay at their normal positions
MA now loads the file "UserVariables.lua" from the MoveAnything addon folder. This file will not be contained within the distribution and will allow advanced users to make modifications to MA which will persist though addon updates.
height and width now adjustable on the Quest and Achievement Tracker, currently at the cost of scaling

3.3-9:
Loads of changes, core rewrites and updates, the following if a very brief summary:
Updated frame list. Among the new additions are horizontal movers for the 2 vertical action bars, bag item tooltip, arena enemy frames, vehicle bar and more.
New checkboxes on the GUI: TT and MF. TT toggles tooltips and MF toggles whether to show only modified frames
VehicleBar fixed. If you exit the vehicle while in combat the PlayerFrame can't be moved from it's default position until you leave combat. This will of course never be seen if using any unitframe mod
Renamed /movecopy to /moveimport and added /moveexport.

I was wondering that too...

but is there a way to move it instead of just hiding it?

You can hide it either by using the Hide Frame keybindings(think you'll need the Exact one for this) or by using /hide GameMenuButtonMoveAnything.

What version are you using? Cause it sounds like you are using -9, as several frames could jump around during combat in that release.

If that's the case the -10 string, released on this site and on Curse as a beta, please post back as the issue should have been fixed.

Luv the Mod

Been using the mod recently and love its flexibility. One question, I have noticed that when i get Frogged or feared my action bars changes positions. Four rows stacked get jumbled. Once battel is over they revert to their normal location. I can't figure out how to ensure i have them "LOCKED" in to place. I thought sync might help but was uncertain if this would help and was afraid to hit it incase it messes up all my hard work. Any ideas.

Currently no, all frames should be restored to their modified positions. It's on my maybe list for the future though.

can this addon move frames but not save the positions? i am just looking for an addon that can allow me to drag a window temporarily but be back in the default position when i log out/back in.

The nudger is still there, if you have tried moving anything you would see it pops back up.

In the last release I've added an option to make it be shown all the time, check the change log.

Also you might want to consider using the key bindings, as they go a long way towards not needing the frames actual names(for all frames that accepts mouseclicks).

the amount which the element is nudged can't currently be customized, but right clicking as well as holding shift have for a long time moved the frame different amounts.

I've however added an alt left click option to the buttons in -10.b5 that will nudge the element .1 unit. I might see about making the nudging fully customizable in a future release.

In the previous version (b2) I had a problem with the very last bank bag not staying in the right place. It was easily fixed by just closing and opening the bank a 2nd time.

Resetting the tooltip movers and reloading the ui(/reload) should return the tooltips to their normal state.

I don't use Bartender anymore myself, but I will add this to my compat check list (which I must admit is a bit low prio).

Unable to duplicate. Really have no clue what is causing this issue, as the minimap is the first frame I move when starting from scratch.

Seems one of your stored frame settings is causing an error, either at load or at logout. An error handling mod like Swatter will tell you what the exact error is.
