MoveAnything!   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
MoveAnything! continued for WotLK by Wagthaa <Savage Tribe> Earthen Ring EU

MoveAnything! enables you to move, scale, hide and alpha blend just about anything, making customizing your User Interface a walk in the park.

Kudos to Skrag, Jason & Vincent for earlier versions.

Enjoy!

Note: Alpha blend is in it's early stages and do not yet work on all frames.

To show the MA window type /move, bind a key or use the button below the main game menu.
In order to take full advantage of MoveAnything you should bind a key to at least one of the "Move frame" bindings.

** Quick Reference for v3.0.2-7 **

The MA window:
Move - toggles moving of frame
Hide - toggles hiding of frame
Reset - undoes MA's changes to frame and removes frame from list if custom
UCS - Use Character Settings - toggles character specific settings on/off
CE - Collapse/Expand - collapses/expands all categories
Close - closes the MA window. Ctrl-Shift-Alt click reloads ui

Interacting with the movers:
Left-Drag - moves frame
Left-Drag the small buttons - scales frame
Right-Click - stops moving frame
Shift Right-Click - toggles visibility of the mover, while still allowing dragging and scaling of the frame
Mousewheel - adjusts alpha blend. This feature is still in it's early stages and will not work for all frames!

Key Bindings:
Toggle MA window - toggles MoveAnything's main window
Move frame - Safe - toggles moving of the first found parent frame, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Hide frame - Safe - hides frame at cursor, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Reset frame - Safe - resets frame at cursor, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Move frame - Exact - toggles moving of the exact frame at cursor
Hide frame - Exact - hides the exact frame at cursor
Reset frame - Exact - resets the exact frame at cursor
Update frames - updates all frames influenced by MA

Slash Commands:
/move - toggles MA window
/move framename - toggles moving of frame named "framename"
/unmove framename - resets frame named "framename"
/movelist - lists character specific settings
/movecopy servername playername - import settings from character
/movedelete servername playername - clear settings for character

/move and /unmove accepts several shorthands: last, minimap, player, target, targetoftarget, focus & pet.

It doesn't work when you check the "run out of date" on the addon page?

You might try changing the TOC yourself, first line = "## Interface: 30200" change only the number.

I'm still running a .7 version of it.

Hope this helps.

It's in the list for the next release, until then do the following to move and/or scale it:

/move RaidWarningFrame

A light update on my progress.

More than a few issues have appeared from either the new frame hooking as well as several old ones being caused by old data.

Due to my poor prediction lately regarding this release, I'll refrain from setting a date and just gonna say I'll have it done as soon as possible.

I'm contemplating releasing a halfway version without the show stopping vehiclebar bug amongst other fixes. Any interest in that? Just to soften the wait a bit.

A few updates on what I'm working on for -9:

The VehicleBar bug is gone in the version I'm working on, but if you are using blizzards standard unitframes the PlayerFrame will be moved to the standard position when you exit a vehicle while in combat. It will move back as soon you are out of combat again. Unfortunately it has proven impossible to remove this behavior, due to Blizzards strict rules regarding protected frames.

The loot frame bug reported a few times has been fixed along with the random frames resetting themselves after relog. I was unable to duplicate either of these bugs, but finally got lucky and hit by the bugs myself. You would not believe the amount of messing about I had to do.

New -9 release should be ready no later than Monday, I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay.

I'll look into this at a later point, probably when I begin adding new features after slimming both the code and memory footprint for -10.

If possible, add the screen names for tooltips for bags or maybe they are called containers.

At present, I have to use a very, very old version of ToolTip Wranger to move all tooltips.

Example: when you mouse over an item in the standard blizzard backpack. The tooltip shows at the mouse. Same holds true if you hover over the bags at the bottom of the standard blizzard screen. Tooltip Wrangler moves those but the Tooltip listed in MoveAnything does not.

I really love this addon. I can finally have all of my characters have their screen elements in the exact same place.

Fixing the VehicleBar has left the bags as unmovable as their code was part of the problem.

Gonna have to postpone release for a day or two, just until I can sort out a new way of getting the bags where I need them.

Already caught that issue. In the version I am currently testing for release you can toggle off the dirty bag hook.

Hope to release it later tonight, provided that new bugs doesn't emerge...

Conflict with Macaroon Bag Adjustment functionalty

For some time I thought the latest releases of Macaroon! (30100.2.x) were bugged when it concerned the functionalty to scale and adjust the location on screen of the bags, so I was still using the older (30100.1.x) releases.

Yesterday I installed the latest release of Macaroon! (30200_Public) hoping the *bug* was solved, but it was still there.

So I decided to delete the \Interface and \WTF folders (made a backup ofc) and only installed Macaroon!. To my surprise the bag functions all did work again, so it must have been a conflict with another addon all the time.

Although I haven't changed anything in MoveAnything! about the bags it was MoveAnything! that caused the problem.

I hope it can be fixed because MoveAnything! is a very nice addon, but like this it's of no use to me (can't live with bags covering my other addon frames and I don't like to have them located to fixed locations on screen).
