SmartRes Test Bars
SmartRes
Automated and co-ordinated Party & Raid Resurrection

SmartRes puts bars on your screen that have timers for the various resurection spells: Resurrection, Ancestral Spirit, Revive, Redemption, and tells you who is casting on whom, how long it will take to bring the target back to life.

Q: Why SmartRes, and not simply a macro?
A: Because macros cannot tell you the name of released (ghost) players, and SmartRes can.
A(2): When using the keybind (auto) rez feature, SmartRes will not try to res players who are already being rezzed by someone else.
A(3): Players who use SmartRes will see every out of combat res type spell being cast, Raid leaders can tell those without SmartRes that a given corpse is already being rezzed so the rezzer can stop casting and pick a new target, thus speeding up wipe recovery.

SmartRes reports, and gets reports, from other addons that have a Resurrection Monitor. It is more accurate if all the ressers have SmartRes, of course!

Type /sr or /smartres for options, or use FuBar.

* Change the resurrection message, which chat type you want it: Party, Raid, custom
* Whisper the target of your res spell
* Move, colour, and retexture the bars
* Set your own keybindings for Normal and Auto rezzing
* More!!

It has both a manual and auto-bind key for resurrecting. The manual key is for targeting released players, and the auto key is for non-released corpses.

Localized: enUS, deDE, koKR, zhCN –– I would appreciate more localizations, and will give credit to those who help. Sadly, I do not know who provided the existing localizations pre-Wrath.

Latest version is always uploaded to Curse first, then WowInterface.

Original addon by Maia, continued by Kyahx and poull. WotLK version by Myrroddin.
Thank you for the bug fixes, Zidomo!
  Change Log - SmartRes
First of all, thank you to Zidomo and Xinhuan for all their help.

Removed all Babble-Spell code, and replaced it with GetSpellInfo (patch 2.4 API) for localization, as Babble-Spell is obsolete.

Updated the Libs to the newest versions I could find.

Added Druid spell "Revive".

Added Death Knights to the res auto-list.

r104: added support for AddonLoader: load delayed, set to be enabled for Priests, Shamans, Paladins, and Druids.

r105 cleaned up some code to prevent possible conflicts. Modified the .toc file to create "lib free" version for eventual Curse Client "no externals"/"no libs" support in case users want to install them seperately. The "lib included" version still exists.

5.11 renamed the version to be more consistant with the internal version of SmartRes. This would have been r106

6.02 fixed AddonLoader compatibility, added manual changelog, updated .toc and libs for patch 3.10 of World of Warcraft

6.03 (hopefully) fixed propagating to Curse to show up in updated addons. Force use latest version of libs

6.05 fixed Death Knights (good catch Arrowmaster!) silly typo.

6.07 fixed SharedMedia-1.0, updated .toc

i hope this doesnt mean we dont get to see any bars anymore (with ability to change texture).
Done. SmartRes2 will pick ressers first, and other classes after.
  1. Priests (best ressers in the game)
  2. Paladins (second best HP/MP return on their resses)
  3. Druids/Shamans (they both have the same HP/MP return on their resses)
  4. Mages/Warlocks/Hunters (other Mana users & buffers)
  5. Everybody else in equal measure
You will still see the res bars, be able to pick colours, textures, and all that good stuff. What I meant by "bar thing" was support for bar addons like FuBar, TitanPanel, LDB bars, etc. SmartRes2 will either be configured through the Blizzard Interface Options Panel, or will have an AceGUI screen, I haven't decided which yet. I dumped bar addon support because I wanted less overhead, and FuBar is especially bloated.

If you want to check out the development progress of SmartRes2, go to SmartRes2 but remember it is still in development stage, and isn't working yet.

SmartRes2 is using the Interface Options Panel exclusively. No Minimap or bar support. This has several advantages:
  • It uses Blizzard APIs which means more lightweight and responsive
  • A much cleaner look, that is standardized
  • I get to dump Ace2 and DewDropLib
  • I don't have to add support for other display addons, keeping SR2 smaller
  • And really, isn't browsing through a MM or bar menu that keeps shifting sizes, thus your pointer accidentally not being on the menu so it closes, annoying?

So, yeah, I ditched the whole Minimap and bar thing in SmartRes2.

Let me know if there's any additional information I can give you to help figure out why this is happening.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I am aware of just how flaky the original SR is getting. I still use this addon because I have not finished SmartRes2.

Some things I have noticed about SRv1 (6.03)
  • Often shows Rebirth, which means it is not disabling itself in combat
  • After the player gets ressed, even with enough Mana, the auto res key doesn't work until you manually res one other person first

I can look into the chat error, to see what I can find. As for not seeing other players' res casts, do you have oRA2 installed, perchance? I just installed it because my Raid Leader was making demands, and noticed it conflicts with SmartRes in a lot of ways.

So, yes, I will look into this, but I think the better (best?) solution is for me to just finish SmartRes2, which is a complete rewrite with none of the original code, some of which dates back before Burning Crusade.

Yep, aware of it. I fixed it both here and on Curse. Took me a bit, since it was so simple, it wasn't obvious.
