Aubcom’s Environment Emotes is an addon originally developed by Adi & Amit Ron (Iseri and Tyari) for the Auberdine Community (Aubcom) of Argent Dawn-EU, but released to the public to benefit roleplayers everywhere.

What It Does
It only re-formats emotes. It neither adds functionality nor lets you do things you otherwise cannot. (Also works with Prat!)

Environmental Emotes
It changes emotes in the format of:
/e || The birds won’t fly tonight.
Into:
The birds won’t fly tonight. (John)
Instead of:
John || The birds won’t fly tonight.

Emotes with a Comma
Since version r2, it also filters out emotes like:
/e , muttering angrily under his breath, walks over to help.
And turns them into:
Rukal, muttering angrily under his breath, walks over to help.
Rather than:
Rukal , muttering angrily under his breath, walks over to help.

Possessive Emotes
In addition, emotes such as:
/e 's nose is far too big for her face.
Will now appear as
Jane’s nose is far too big for her face.
Instead of the usual:
Jane 's nose is far too big for her face.

The lack of the space may be subtle, but great nevertheless.

I use the scribe to record all my RP sessions, and just picked up this addon today to try it out in conjunction. Unfortunately it seems like if you use EE, it doesn't record any of the changed emotes, which is a shame. Is there any way to make this possible, or make it work? I've gotten a lot of people on Moon Guard Hordeside using WowScribe, and it'd be easy to get them into this one too...if it could record the changes to the emotes. Unfortunately for now I'm going to have to disable it.

For those of you who appreciate the elegance and intrusive addons - say no more. I am working on a new addon named the "World Enhancer." Yes, those gnomes, they make the funniest devices! The exact way in which this addon will work is yet to be decided completely, but I do have a very good sense of it. As usual, the design will aim for: * Unintrusiveness. You will not need to think of the addon when you don't have to. * Simplicity of design. An addon does not need to be complex in order to do its job, and the user doesn't have to understand how the addon works, and should they choose to, it needs to be simple. * If you can't do it in a good way, don't do it at all. Addons are not almighty, and nobody likes a cheap hack. * Don't limit: ENABLE. Some other developers have been known to limit their own addons' functionality on purpose. Yes, I'm not making this up, this is true. The World Enhancer will not have artificial restrictions. * Peace by separation. Prevent frustration by playing with your friends by your rules. * GNU Public License. Not just free beer, freedom as well. Credits on the great bulk of coding go to Amit Ron. Kudos on his work in the past, future work and understanding of my design principles. Stay tuned for more in the next few days.

I love the idea behind this mod, but its uses are really limited unless everyone you RP / play with has it as well, which is very often not the case because of random interactions on RP servers, etc.

Thank you, I will mention that. You are correct, what this does is change the format in which incoming emotes are displayed.

And I have to say I disagree with you on the last bit. People still emote with "||" signs and emotes starting with apostrophe-S - so this does not change anything except make them look prettier to the user.
