Skada Damage Meter   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular; the modes listed below are all separate addons. Only the modes you load adds to the memory and CPU cycles used.

Features:
  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, Failbot, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.

Usage:

At first a list of all the modes above are shown. Right-click to show the available fight segments. "Total" and "Current" should be there. After a fight a new segment will appear here. By left-clicking on a segment you choose what data will be shown in the modes. Left-click on "Current" to get back to the mode list. "Current" shows data for the active fight, or the last fight if you are out of combat.

Left-click on a mode, for example "Damage", to show that mode. Left-click again to show more detailed data. Not all modes have detailed data. Right-click to return back to your previous position.

Shift-click anywhere on the window to open a menu. From here you can report data, reset data, and various other things. You can also report with /skada report.

You can configure Skada from "Configure" in the menu, or from the game's Interface->Addons window. You can create new Skada windows here and customize them. A popular feature is "Mode switching".

Data can be reset with /skada reset, from the menu, or by shift+left clicking the minimap/LDB button.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada. All suggestions and bug reports are very welcome. There is a page with API information here.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

I modified mine to show my focus target by changing all the instances of "target" to "focus" in the threat.lua in the skada threat folder.

Is there anyway to eliminate the backdrop of the bars? I wanna see bars and then the background without a faded out texture bar in between.

The problem is that the showing/hiding of Skada isn't centralized around one function, if the author reads this you should centralize this in update_active() or similar which checks the different db options against wassolo/waspvp etc.

In Skada.lua line 845 replace the line with the following line:

The 'hide on' parameters really need to get sorted out. I have 2 windows, dmg and threat, and it's a pita to have them only show when I'm in a group, and only when I'm not in a bg.

Basically I just disable the mod most of the time, which is less-than-ideal because it's a mod I'd like to have to monitor my own dps when I'm solo'ing.

I really like the mode displays for Enemy damage done/taken, I remember requesting something like this back when in the os 3d days, glad it got implemented


Some extra feature requests though.

1. Enemy Healing done (/& also who they healed)
2. Totals per view. For instance, if I wanted to see the damage done for a specific segment, the first line would be a 'total' of all the raids damage during that segment.

I just switched over from recount and I'm really liking how customisable it is.

However, scrolling through the different segments is a little awkward when trying to view a specific type of data.

This is a great addon. Thank you! I have a request, though. (Of course) Would it be difficult to add an option to restore the window's state after combat ends? For example, I like it to open to the threat meter when my guild is in an instance, but I'd like it to hide again after combat if it was hidden before.

EDIT: Durr... I missed TGulics's comment about exactly that.

EDIT again: The "no CC announce in PvP" works great... except Wintergrasp

I would really appreciate this feature as well. I don't really want to dedicate my entire screen to the damage meter, so I've limited the amount of bars displayed to 10. However, if there are more than 10 people in the raid, it shows the bottom 10 and not the top 10. This is especially annoying when a hunter drops a snake trap.

Other than that, I love the addon. Keep up the great work!

I like how I can use this to replace Recount and Omen. My only request would be to have an option to hide when Out of Combat. I really only want to see Threat bars while in combat. When out of combat, I can toggle it manually to check the damage meter portion.

I'm using Skada to replace both Omen and Recount and have a few requests:

1. It would be really nice if the various threat warnings could be configured to not fire while solo.

2. It would be really nice if the various threat warnings could be configured to fire even if Skada isn't in threat display mode.

Other then that, I love this addon!

Changing font color

Would be awesome if there was an option to set the font color beyond the ability to have them as class color, it would also be nice if you could at the same time set if you wanted thick or thin outline/shadow.

Skada also has strange interaction with font outlines from other addons, such as Chicchai. In Windows it shows outlines *most* of the time in the Skada window, it disappears sometimes while paging in the menus, but when running it in Linux the outlines doesn't show at all. I've not seen the outline at all in Windows 7 either. Might be something special about something in Windows Vista?

Well, if you don't have any ideas why it might be this way, you don't have to bother too much with it. :P

Is there any way to parent a KGpanel to skada? I can't for the life of me find the name of anything I can parent to other than config windows..

Any plans to make "Hide when solo" individual from the windows? Atm, i'm using a threat and dps window, but i don't want it to show my threat window when im going solo, except when i have a pet active.
