As of version 1.3.17 of oUF, this plug-in is not needed any more, and such, development is discontinued.

To "preserve" your colors you must add a color base to the oUF.colors table, the runeloadcolors table you have is only to fix a bug. oUF.colors.runes is the table, it has 4 keys, one for each color, it corresponds to GetRuneType API |

with a certain talents in spec (e.g. Reaping) which allow you to convert 1 type of rune into another oUF_Runebar acts pretty wired for me:
