MAX PartyWaypoints
!!! Now thanks to patch 3.1, this addon will work inside instances. !!!

Allows for tracking of any or all raid/party members with separate arrows. Each arrow shows direction, distance, and estimated travel time to the selected player. Designed for friends who can't seem to stay together in the battlegrounds

To make an arrow: bind a key to it then target or mouseover and hit that key, or select from the right click party menu.
To move: left click and drag with the mouse.
To remove: right click it.
To resize: type /maxwp
To dynamically track target or mouseover: Make a keybinding or type "/maxwp track target", or "/maxwp track mouseover"

It is designed to show as a question mark if your target is in a different zone or doesn't exist. It should work if your target is in the same instance, outdoor zone, or battleground. Please post or send me a message if it is not working for you.

Inspired by Cartographer Waypoints.

PS: This is my first addon release. For those of you that design addons, I'm open to suggestions and corrections. I did not patent this, so feel free to use it but please don't take credit for my ideas.

Carbonite uses incredibly expensive and verbose communication from clients. Basically when you encounter an enemy you sit there spamming information about his location to other people. This is not a satisfactory solution.

I would really love it if it could track people outside the group, but there's a limitation with the API blizzard gives us. The command I'm using right now to get grouped member's location is:

http://www.wowwiki.com/API_GetPlayerMapPosition

which only works on grouped players. If you know another way or if they release a new api, please let me know.

Thanks that worked.

Let me ask you this, Is it possible to make your application work outside of a group or is that something Bliz won’t let work? Here’s my issue, I am a program that tells me when the opposite faction is in the area (Enemy) and when I click on it their Portrait comes up if close but I have a hard time looking for them. I have always looked for add-ons that maybe placed a dot or something on the mini map so I could at least walk that direction until I see them but your’s would be perfect (If possible), Please advise.

Thanks

1. An option to have it automatically toggle the appropriate arrows whenever I am in a group. IE: When I join a group with 2 other people, I want it to turn on arrows for both of them. When a 3rd person joins, it activates the 3rd arrow. When someone leaves, it turns off their arrow.

2. The ability to lock the arrows after I position them, and to have it remember those positions across sessions. (I like the arrows to be right next to the unit frame for whoever they are tracking).
Good idea, I'll work on it. You can also dynamically track party members by "/maxwp track party1", and it will track whomever is in the party1 slot, and same for 2, 3, 4.

Yep just left click and drag to move them. It works with any other addons.

I found that you can dynamically track your current target or mouseover by typing "/maxwp track target", or "/maxwp track mouseover"

I plan to implement key bindings for these actions.

I don't know if it's technically possible, but specially for instances it would be very helpfull for tanking and healing porposes. Also a possibility to set class colors would be great.

Keep up the good work!

I will add this feature, but it will only work when your target is in your party/raid. Good idea.
