EventEquip is a lightweight addon which hopes to further narrow the gap between the new in-game Equipment Manager and its inspirational addons like ItemRack or Outfitter. It does this by allowing you to assign gear sets to certain in-game events.
There is also support implemented for saving whatever you were previously wearing. For example, when entering town, you can have it auto-equip your about town clothes (fancy dress, etc). Upon leaving town, whatever you were wearing previously will be restored. This previously saved gear will persist between sessions/reloads. It attempts to be smart, too. Take this example:
- wearing normal gear
- enter town, save normal gear, equip town set
- enter a bg, equip pvp set
- leave bg, you are back in town, equip town set again when no longer pvp flagged
- leave town, equip whatever normal gear you were wearing before
Currently supported events:
- primary and secondary talent specs
- In-town
- Mounted (only equips outside of town)
- PvP flagged
- stances/forms/presences for warriors, druids, and DKs
Other future features:
- tooltips for Equipment Manager window to display set names, items in the set, assigned event, and keybinding (from default UI) <-- added in v.0.3
- possible LDB display for manual set choosing
FAQ:
How do I get started?
1. In Interface Options, under Features, select to use the Equipment Manager
2. Open your character window and click the new Gear Manager icon in the upper right
3. Create and save a gear set
4. Click the EventEquip icon at the top-left of the Equipment Manager window
5. Pick an event, then a set to go with it. Click Save.

mainspec and offspec got their own sets, but the rest is not in use
Was testing this out today on my rogue. Added a stealth set and set it to the stealth event. Entering stealth worked fine and my set was changed to my stealth set, but on leaving stealth nothing happened. Not sure if I have set it up incorrectly or if there is something else the matter. If it is a case of my setting it up incorrectly could someone please let me know the correct set up to use?
Originally posted by DaemonSambe Why is this mod constantly swapping my gear? It's like it's checking for states, rather than events. I have a set for my DK stance. Fine. It works. I decide i want to change weapons, i do. 5s later it swaps my weapons back to the set.
That should not be the case. It should only be checking for changes in state when those events for which it is defined, are activated.
This is making it more annoying than not...
While the author may be able to find a way around this it is probably going to be the fatal flaw of Blizzards Equipment Manager over such mods as Outfitter and ItemRack. You can not micro manage a set meaning it is all armor slots or none. Blizzard did not provide any options that I have seen for excluding certain pieces from a set.
This issue with updates is likely how the mod author is checking them and when Blizzard is sending them.

At last the Equipment manager was introduced and with this AddOn it is quite usable.
May I ask you Seerah for including a localization ? This would be very helpful, until then I have to edit line 156 and 158 to accept the german spellname.
NOTE: this addon hasn't been touched since the 3.1 PTR. As such, it's not updated for the Equipment Manager release (there were API changes, iirc). I don't foresee myself getting to them any time soon, as I'm taking a break from WoW while we move and get settled in the new house. Not sure when I'll be starting back up again.

Does the mod auto-switch when you change your spec with Dual Spec?
Yes, though iirc there's a better way to do it now. But I'm not sure if it (EventEquip) works with the Equipment Manager currently, besides Samasnier's comment.

Originally posted by Gello Oh this is awesome. I've been rewriting ItemRack to use the default equip manager/sets. I personally don't like gear changing on its own (but I know many who do) so my event support has been awful. Dropping events on my end entirely and pointing those who want events to EventEquip would be the best of all worlds.
Thanks for making this!
(Gello) I LOVE Item Rack and have been using it forever. I also am one of those peeps that do use the event swapping. Particularly for riding, swimming, eating/drinking, evocation, special zone items like argent dawn trinket for plague lands, and around town. Additionally I use it extensively for queuing items (mostly trinkets). I hope that if you do abandon these functions in ItemRack that you coordinate it so that they show up in this mod as well. I also heavily use the item slots that you can create by Alt-clicking in your character screen and then place on your desktop.
(Gello & Seerah) Great job to both of you on both mods! I look forward to the new releases.

It's just that if things aren't put in my portal, I'll likely forget about them.
