Aptechka  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.4.2
by: d87 [More]

Aptechka is a raid frames addon.

Addon is customized with lua config file
You can place your configuration changes into AptechkaUserConfig/userconfig.lua to avoid overwriting them when updating. Reference config - Aptechka/config.lua.
There's still some basic options available ingame from /apt console command. like positioning.

github

Default config file

FAQ:
How can i change manabar width, indicator placement etc etc?
See the custom skin part at the end of this FAQ.

How to switch skins?
change config.skin = "GridSkin" to config.skin = "MechanizeV"

How to make it hidden when i'm not in a group?
config.showSolo = false

What is UserConfig?
It's a separate addon that contains your personal settings.
Values from UserConfig replace default settings. That way you can safely update core module without losing your changes.
Or you can have 2 UserConfig modules.
It is also possible to add new skins as plugins, and switch between them depending on character class.

Lua knowledge is required?
Probably not, copy-pasting and changing values should be enough for most things.
But editor with Lua syntax highlighting will help you (SublimeText, SciTE, Notepad++). If you want to make your own skin you better be familiar with wow widget api.

What is priority?
When two or more actions assigned to the same spot are active, the one with higher priority is displayed.
Weakened soul is a good example. You won't see WS until PWS is still active.

What is "heal trace"?
That's when you want to know who exactly was healed by your Circle of Healing, Chain Heal, etc in the form of blinking indicator.

How to add new zones and spells for debuff loader?
Instances are identified by map id (assuming they have their own map).
To find out current zone map id type: /dump GetCurrentMapAreaID()
Map IDs are tied to instance name and instance name is tied to function that is pushing boss spells into your current spell set. More info inside userconfig file

What's that combat filtering option for?
Disabled until better days.
In 4.2 all autorefreshing spells (SWP-MF, Corruption-Haunt, Lifebloom, Renew-Chakra, etc) stopped generating SPELL_AURA_REFRESH event for combat log. So basically this feature is ruined until Blizzard fix this.
useCombatLogFiltering provides a huge perfomance boost over default behavior, which would be to listen only to UNIT_AURA event.
UNIT_AURA doesn't tell what exactly changed and every time addon had to scan current buffs/debuffs,
In raid combat unit_aura sometimes fired up to 8 times per second for each member with all the stacking trinkets and procs.
useCombatLogFiltering option moves this process mainly to combat log, where we can see what spell was updated.
Only if it's in our spell set it will update buff data for this unit.
The drawback is that it only works in combat log range, but it's big enough, and there's a fallback on throttled unit_aura (every 5s) for out of range units.
On lich king there was an issue, and maybe it's still present, that necrotic plague removal event didn't appear in combat log
and that caused glitches with boss debuff indicator. But that's a rare blizzard side bug.
Dispel idicators still work from unit_aura, so you'll see plague regardless as disease if you can dispel it.

How to change skin layout from config?
So to customize frame elements, you'll have to create a custom skin, inherit default skin stuff and then add to/change it. Easy...
Default skin source is in frame.lua file

Code:
config.skin = "GridCustom"
config.useAnchors = "GridSkin" -- use parent skin anchors
config.GridCustom = function(self)
    config.GridSkin(self) -- inheriting
    -- how to create new icon
    local icon2 = config.GridSkin_CreateIcon(self,24,24,0.4,"TOPLEFT",self,"TOPLEFT",0,0)  -- w/h = 24, alpha = 0.4
    self.icon2 = icon2

    -- how to move existing indicators
    self.spell2:ClearAllPoints() -- clear previous position
    self.spell2:SetPoint("CENTER",self,"CENTER",0,0) -- set to center
    -- same way to move text
    self.text1:ClearAllPoints()
    self.text1:SetPoint("TOP",self,"TOP",0,-5)

    -- how to delete existsing indicators
    self.raidbuff = nil

    -- how to create new indicator
    local newind = config.GridSkin_CreateIndicator(self,6,6,"TOPLEFT",self,"TOPLEFT",0,0)  -- w/h = 6
    self.spell4 = newind
    -- change healthbar texture
    self.health.bg:SetTexture([[Interface\AddOns\Aptechka\white]])
    self.health:SetStatusBarTexture[[Interface\AddOns\Aptechka\white]]

    --how to change mana bar width
    self.power:SetWidth(2)

    --how to change indicator size
    self.spell2:SetWidth(3);    self.spell2:SetHeight(3);
end

Lua Code:
  1. local DebuffTypeColor = DebuffTypeColor
  2. local helpful_color = { r = 0, g = 1, b = 0}
  3. local function MySetJob_DebuffIcon(self, job)
  4.     SetJob_Icon(self, job)
  5.     local color = job.color
  6.     if color then
  7.         self.debuffTypeTexture:SetVertexColor(color[1], color[2], color[3], color[4] or 0.6)
  8.     else
  9.         local debuffType = job.debuffType
  10.         if debuffType == "Helpful" then
  11.             color = helpful_color
  12.         else
  13.             color = debuffType and DebuffTypeColor[debuffType] or DebuffTypeColor["none"]
  14.         end
  15.         self.debuffTypeTexture:SetVertexColor(color.r, color.g, color.b, 0.6)
  16.     end
  17.
  18.     if job.isBossAura then
  19.         self:SetScale(1.4)
  20.     else
  21.         self:SetScale(1)
  22.     end
  23. end
  24.
  25. self.dicon1.SetJob = MySetJob_DebuffIcon
  26. self.dicon2.SetJob = MySetJob_DebuffIcon
  27. self.dicon3.SetJob = MySetJob_DebuffIcon

you'll have to override this whole function in your custom skin

Actually i think i should highlight it in some other way rather than increased size, like a bright border or something. because debuff icons are already taking quite a lot of space
it's really a good idea, but i duno how it will play in real play, you can make option to set to one or the other to player preference maybe? also can i add these lines into my userconfig by themself ? cuz i put this in the userconfig and size didnt change

hi d87, sorry for bothering you, but can I ask which lines exactly I need to add to my own userconfig to control the sizes of these two debuffs, big and small?

Hey, I'm testing this again today, and I think its the same -.- the debuffs are the same size and nothing is bigger, im doing LFR again.

but maybe my userconfig is interfering I have alot of changes, but not sure, if you want i can post my personal userconfig that i like to use.

p.s I just noticed something, a boss debuff got larger, but when something gets larger the other debuffs get larger aswell, so that what I noticed on furnace fight

Sorry, there was a bug. It probably will work now (same link), but i still haven't tried it myself.
In any case, i'll definitely check back on this feature when i'll start playing again.

Thanks, I don't want to sound ungrateful, as I really am, but what exactly was changed in this edit, is it just an increase to the size of the three blizzard debuffs? I entered LFR to test it and it seemed the same to me but a bit larger.

But what I meant with my post is that, blizzard seem to have two types of debuffs, one small (less important debuffs) and one bigger (more important debuffs) which is nice to have a more important debuffs larger slightly

try this, boss auras should be bigger now and also include bossbuffs. tho i'm not sure that is a good solution, because space is an issue already

and no, it's impossible to just switch to blizzzard's stuff

Is this possible?

To use aptechka for everything, but removing my class indicators & buff/debuff things, but then enable the default blizzard buff/debuff style into the named frames from aptechka. does this make sense? I'm trerrible in English, but what I'm trying to say is.

The default blizzard raidframes have some new special feature in their buff/debuff style in a way that sometimes there are few buffs or debuffs showing in larger fashion than other debuff/buffs, most of the times the bigger debuff are important and to the left of frame, then you can see a normal sized debuffs, then you also see your healing buffs on the target while ignoring the raid buffs etc. I don't know how blizzard implement this but most of the time a very important boss debuff will be larger than the others "Fixate for example"

I wish to be able to use aptechka, but using this style of buff/debuff instead of the old style indicators that first came with this mod, even tho its nice, but I know how to disable them, but them how can I enable the blizzard buff/debuff to the aptechka targets/frames.

Sorry for the long msg, I'm just trying to explain

also I love how the resurrect works, specially to see that its being casted on a specific frame then I can see that its pending, which tells me even before it pended that someone already is casting a resurrect on that dead person which is nice, but when Mass-res happen I don't see the cast being casted on those that don't have debuff, also I don't see the pending on them, only for the mass-res, by the way it used to show before until you changed it, but I liked the old one better where I can clearly see who has it casted on
Regarding Massres, that was a change in LibResInfo, it no longer provides info about massres targets, only that it's being casted, I don't know what was the reason for the change

I remember about the arrow feature, I actually intended to add it just before wod, but at the time LibMapData was causing errors, so i had to wait and then one thing led to another, i was mainly playing tanks, so in the end i didn't... tbh, i'm not excited about 6.2 for some reason, but surely it'll continue to work.

hi, aptechka still working fine even after few patches and I still love it as much as I used to, hope it will continue in 6.2 in the coming weeks, one thing that i want to request as new feature if at all possible, if not possible its fine. an 3d arrow to determined where the player is ONLY if out of range, I'm a healer and this help quiet alot in the new raids specially with the big spreads, even if I want to resurrect, sometimes I can't tell where the person is.

The problem here is that i don't actually raid at any meaningful level, so i'm not familiar with encounters
I tried ripping off addons like GridRaidDebuff, but they include too much, when boss debuffs in this addon are reserved for things that require more [immediate] attention than default debuff icons and dispel indicator can provide.

I just tested mass res, the new one, its quiet interesting change, I like it, so you made it that the mass res icon+timer shows on player casting it as opposed to the player receiving it as it was before, i also like the countdown shows on player receiving it too so then i know who has debuff and who dont, but still i love this
