RaidIdSaver
Here's a very simple addon I wrote if you're worried about griefers using up your Heroic Trial of the Crusader attempts. All it does is set the difficulty to non-heroic when you become leader of a raid (as a result of forming one or being made leader). Manually setting the difficulty while in a raid will disable this automatic setting until you leave the raid.

/ris enable
and
/ris disable
are the only slash commands and will enable/disable the addon for the current session if you have a particular reason to do so

The addon is enabled and functional by default when logging in. If you want to stop using the addon then uncheck it on the Addons screen or remove the addon.

Everyone in your guild who has been saved to a Heroic run is a potential target for griefers and so everyone should use the addon for maximum effectiveness.

This is happening after you manually set the difficulty? Are you changing raid leaders frequently? If you become raid leader then change the difficulty yourself, then no further automatic changes should happen unless someone else becomes the leader.

If this is still an issue, I could check only specifically for leader changes, though my main goal before was making the change as quick as possible without having to check too many things.

What this addon does is automatically set the raid to non-heroic when the potential griefer does the above and makes you raid leader, so all they could potentially steal is your regular (non-heroic) instance. This addon isn't functional or intended to prevent Yogg keeper shenanigans or Algalon griefing.
Ah I see. I hadn't really tested the saved instance stuff since 3.2 and the raid extensions. Thanks for the fast reply and great explanation!
