ncDequip

ncDequip is a simple and text based AddOn for one simple goal: Dequipping items. All this addon does is add the /dequip <slot> | /dq <slot> slash commands for dequipping the slot you specified. This addon is usable as a library, use Dequip(xxx) to call the function. Watch out though, for all you need to specify Dequipall(). This AddOn is mainly for learning the process in how to upload and maintain an AddOn, and has very little practical use. But there is an example I could think of, when your about to die in a raid - /dq all. Enjoy!

Upcoming features:
/dq <name> - Dequips an item by name instead of slot.
/dq undo - Undo's the latest dequip called by /dq.
Suggest features!

Usage:
/dequip xxx | /dq xxx - Unequips slot where xxx can be one of the following slots or "all":

I don't think this already exists as a standalone addon.

Hmm.. I seem to remember this already existing. I was using it the other day to do my kgpanels.

I'm currently working on a developer utility, an AddOn which live displays the frame(s) your hovering over and their parent, children and strata. I'm basing it on a code snippet I found in a in-game lua editor-pad thingy. I can't memorize the name though, so I can't ask the author wether he wants me to start from scratch or that I can rewrite his code >.<

Not true! At the UI & Macros Forum on Blizzard's official site, people frequently ask for simple ways to un-equip items. Normally I refer them to one of the full-featured equipment management mods, such as Outfitter. Or help them with relatively complex script commands.

The ability to have a simple reverse of the /equip command is all most of these people need. So... thanks for making this! I am sure it will prove valuable.

This is perfect, it will just say "can't do that in combat" in the UIErrorsFrame when in combat and BTW you can still unequip weapons and shields in combat. No need for any changes, because this is not a flaw.

Hmm, yeah, I think whenever the function get's called, it saves the names of everything equipped, and when /dq requip is called it restores those items.
