Roth UI mini

Intro
Welcome to my new user interface, it's kind of: "Back to the roots - minimal style".

Intention
Why have I made this? I always played this kind of interface before I started doing the "orbs"-thing and I always wanted to come back to it sometime.
I made the UI with the intention to be:
- minimal
- low cpu
- main UI elements must be movable ingame (bars and unitframes)
- has to look cool

Install steps
0. Backup your WTF, Interface and Fonts folders.
1. Download the ZIP.
2. Unpack it to your desktop.
3. Make sure you start with a clean Interface folder, no AddOns should be installed that may interfere.
4. Put the Fonts and the Interface folder from the ZIP inside your World of Warcraft folder.
5. Start the game. First thing you may need to do is to adjust the UI-Scale (Escape > Graphic settings) and you will need to move your unitframes into position.

How to move normal unitframes?
While in-game hold down SHIFT+ALT, hover the frame you want to move and start dragging your mouse.

How to move the party?
Move your mouse next to the _first_ partyframe the dragable area is around the first partyframe. Click in the dark next to the first partyframe, hold down SHIFT+ALT and start dragging.

How to move the raid?
Move your mouse next to the _first_ raidframe the dragable area is around the first raidframe. Click in the dark next to the first partyframe, hold down SHIFT+ALT and start dragging.

How to move the bars, shapeshift, stancebar, vehicle, petbar?
Move your mouse next to the actionbar you want to move. Click in the dark, hold down SHIFT+ALT and start dragging. There is a small area around each bar that is registered for drag.

Config
There is no ingame config, but most of the addons have a small Lua-config at the top of the code. If you want changes grab your texteditor and start editing.

build it out of full Roth UI updated version?

Just a thought - but - for those of us looking for updated Roth UI mini, it looks to me like we could pull updated versions of most of the individual mods used, from full Roth UI.

The unit frames and bar-background-texture appear to be the biggest difference really. If Ouf simple from the mini test version works... could sub that in for the diablo 3 themed ones pretty much, no?

Granted, one would might need to adjust scale, unlock the bars, etc., but that all seems fairly do-able, looking at the config. areas in the .lua.

Not wanting to step on toes or go too far off-piste though... how would you feel about that, Zork? I mean, providing we'd do it for our own installs - not to redistribute anywhere (badwrong, that, imho) ?

Thanks!

This UI is resolution independent.

Ah, thanks for the info, but thanks for answering our questions!

I'll still use this ptr version though and update on my own. I'll post if I encounter problems.

Thanks again!

Thanks! Works great with 3.3.

Will you release a "non-PTR" version?

re: aTotemBar issue solved...

Just wanted to followup to note - I worked out the prob. I was having with aTotemBar.

My Shammy wasn't lvl 30 yet, and I haden't read the comments in aTotemBar.lua closely enough. You don't get a totembar until 30... so um...once I leveled my shammy alt to 30, the addon worked fine from that point on.

...embarrassing to admit, but didn't want anyone to worry lol

Cool thanks for that. I have been using mapster on mine with Roth mini - mapster seems to cohabitate fine with everything in Zork's compilation as well, as far as I can tell, and it is very simple and easy to setup as well.

...going to check out pmap tonight probably too, thanks again.

Other stuff I've added to use with RothUI mini:

rFoV (viewported area at the bottom where I keep bars/chat/skada, and a small one at the top that ads a nice effect behind the location text, top of mmap, etc)

skada damage meter (it's ... just ok, recount probably works better...Skada seems "lighter" if you will.)

dbm, ora3 for raid stuff

align (initially, to arrange things on the screen)

...that all seems to work fine, except, when I tried to add aTotemBar on my shammy, I am getting lua errors like when I use the slash coms like /atbar lock say. I need to do more testing there - hunch is it could be one of the addons I've added above that is causing a conflict?

Once I get that worked out, my next "advanced" project with this will be to see if I can play in lua to add more indicators beside the OUF raid frames. Specificaly, I plan to work on adding an eating/drinking indicator (perfectRaid has it, if you're familiar) - helps me a lot when leading raids to know when to pull lol.

If folks are interested I'll post back with how that goes... hope this is appropriate discussion for this board - if not - apologies, and by all means we can rm the post in that case.

Thanks again Zork, you Rock!

You can set a .frequentUpdates value on the fontstring to make oUF update the tag with an onupdate. It can either be the frequency as a number or a boolean. If it's a boolean oUF will use .5 as the frequency.

Thanks for this UI.

I've been using this but switched it to oUF_Caellian with oUF_BarFader.
