I have been poking round the code looking how to add the dungeon journal, i'll continue to look but has anyone else looked into this or using a diff addon for the same job?

If the mouseover error is bugging you, you can get rid of it by commenting out lines 80-86 of LonnyMenu-lua. You lose the line for latency on the mouseover but you get rid of the error and get the other mouseover info back as well. If anyone has an actual fix please let us know.

As with some other addons i've seen lately that are monitoring live addon memory usage, Lonny Broker: Menu is also having issues with this problem.

As soon as i turn on the "All" (latency, fps and memory) or "Memory" option in the "Broker Display" the game starts to hitch is hardly playable anymore.

When i set it to latency or fps everything runs fine.

So the easy solution is not using the "all" and "memory" settings, but i do like to see the latency and fps values.

So my request is can you make a setting showing latency and fps on the Broker Display ?

That way you still have all information: latency and fps on the broker display and memory info on the tooltip.

Hey Lonny, just wanted to let you know about a problem I've noticed with this addon... It actually took me awhile to isolate that Lonny Broker Menu was causing the issue, but I was experiencing some pretty intensive CPU cycles that was causing an odd "hitching" problem. During normal gameplay I'd notice a slight FPS drop and an even more noticeable staggering of the graphics engine every second or so, and when I hovered the mouse over the broker menu it would get a little worse (the strange thing is that I could still maintain 30 FPS or so, down from 60, but the "hitching" was the most noticeable aspect).

Anyway I used a couple addon benchmark tools like Interface Usage to try and isolate the problem, and saw that Lonny Broker Menu was at the top of both the CPU cycle and memory list. When I disabled it, the hitching stopped. The thing is, I can swear I remember using character profiles within the last few days that included Lonny Menu, but didn't hitch out. So I'm thinking maybe it's a compatibility problem with another addon?

Is there a way I can debug this for you to try and find out what's going on? I'll create a ticket on Wowace once I can share more info, if that's the repository you use. I just don't know exactly how to debug this since it doesn't appear to be throwing out any LUA errors (I'm using Swatter to view errors).

UPDATE: After doing some more testing with alternate character profiles (with different addons enabled in addition to Lonny Broker Menu), I was able to confirm that the "hitching" was happening on all of them. Some were hitching to a lesser degree, which is why I didn't notice it as much on other characters. But even without using diagnostic tools, I can Lonny Broker Menu is somehow placing an unusual amount of stress on the rendering engine, evidenced by the stuttering/hitching (and even a bit of "lag" that's easiest to notice when typing characters into the chat field, for example).

Since I love this addon so much, I'll try to see if I can help you debug the issue. So far the best interface benchmarking tool I've found is an addon called "Interface Usage," which can display more than just CPU and memory usage. It also displays event calls and some other data, but so far I haven't found a way to log that info. I'll keep working at it, and at the very least, maybe provide a few links to screenshots.

If you have any other advice on methods to help you debug the problem, let me know. Since the problem seems to vary in severity on different character profiles, that leads me to believe it might have something to do with compatibility of other addons. For example, it was most severe on my bank alt, which uses a lot of resource-intensive addons like Auctioneer, Armory, Atlasloot and others. (The particular broker display addon that's in use doesn't seem to matter though, as I've tested it with both Chocolate Bar and Bazooka.)

You're right, I had a such an addon, but I abandoned it long, long time ago.

With Fubar I used to have a game menu plugin and a micro menu plugin using symbols instead of text. The symbols were directly displayed on the bar. I remembered them as Lonnys Micro/Game Menu Fu. Maybe that is wrong.

Anyway I'm looking for a Data Broker Plugin showing what this addon does but not text based but as little symbols directly on ChocolateBar. Does anyone have an idea?
