Tidy Plates: Threat Plates - Version 8.6

About:
Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Starting with version 8.6.0, TPTP now is a standalone addon that no longer requires TidyPlates. Please enable only one of these two nameplate addons, otherwise two overlapping nameplates will be shown for units.
Features:
  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

Nah, i got enough on plate working on DBM. I was just helping get boss mod integration into this version of threat plates.

As for other fork, it's not as well maintained and definitely doesn't support boss mod pass on, so I had to make sure at least on my end, that I only pass on to THIS version of threat plates, not the other one that doesn't support it.

alternatively as a shortcut, just throw some extra global in mod somewhere i can use for my check that only you have and Tidy Plates: Threat does not

something like

TidyPlatesThreatOfficial = "Yo"

just so I can change my check to TidyPlatesThreatOfficial instead of using TidyPlatesThreat which would pass callbacks to the poorly maintained other fork that wouldn't work.
New version 8.6.1 with "TidyPlatesThreatDBM = true" is now released.

Changing TidyPlatesThreat was a request some time ago. I closed it as both addons now cannot be activated the same time anyway (that would result in two nameplates) since I integrated TidyPlates into ThreatPlates and made it standalone (TidyPlates is currently no longer maintained). That's just not something I can change very easily without creating lots of LUA bugs I fear.

I will add a global TidyPlatesThreatDBM in the next release (8.6.1) that will be released probably on Friday.
Code:
TidyPlatesThreatDBM = true
should work, right?
Where is this other fork?

Mystic do I need to add you to the team?
The fork of TPTP is Tidy Plates: Threat

Ok, finally the new version 8.6.0 with the boss mods functionality is released. It took me a lot of time as there was a bug that I just could not fix (not related to the boss mod part).
Was slow to read this, I'll make sure to enable pass on in next update. I JUST did one few min ago so it's not in that update. I'll put it in alpha versions for testing though.
Thanks, that's absolutely fine. I enabled it locally by changing DBM and it seems to work without any issues.

Yeah, I released an alpha where it's working already, but I did not find the time to finsh it. v8.6. which will contain it will probably take two more weeks to finish. So, I think it's best to disable it until v8.6. is release. Sorry for that.

I figured it'd be done by now, but now I'm getting antorus users complaining DBM no longer works with tidy plates, so I might disable the pass on for now and use internal handling again until it's properly implimented

dbm right now simply does basic and more limited version of it if user isn't using kui, but if they are using kui it just passes it on to KUI to handle. you can look at DBM-Nameplates to see what's going on.

If you add proper support then I can simply update DBM to pass request to threat plates.

This is still used and quite helpful on a LOT of fights (most notable this tier is showing what mobs have bone armor on Desolate Host

You will note that DBM still supports friendly nameplate auras while Bigwigs version of it stripped that out. My thought on this was that world bosses have no restrictions and you just never know.
I started to working on supporting this feature now. Is there any easy way to test it (like a button for showing test icons like there is for other DMB UI elements)? Going into LFR to test it is to really fun

Edit: Ah, found it: /run DBM.Nameplate:Show(true, UnitGUID("target"), 227723)
Glad I checked this, so I should go ahead and add TPTP global to DBM so DBM passes it to you and doesn't double up and run internal code as well.

and done, now if you use latest alpha, DBM will trust you to handle it, and not run any of it's internal nameplate code at all. Now you get to do all fun stuff, test the enable/disable call backs, etc.
Great. I'll do that. It's basically working right now, even in raids (with some local changes to DBM). Still have to improve the performance though. Plan is to integrate it into the 8.6 release (with ETA currently).

Any idea what might be going on? I have this installed, but I also have the original tidy plates installed too, because I can't use this without that(Dependency missing). And I can't change any of those settings either, none of the drop down menus work, can't change from graphite or anything.

Ended up disabling everything but tidy plates, the widget, and then the threat platess. Works fine now :P I am also able to load all my other addons.
That's really weird, but good that it works again.
