# bar4threat

Version: 1.1.1
by: Lolzen [More]

based on lolThreat

What does this addon?
This is an Addon, to display your threatvalue of the current targeted mob, in form of a nice little bar, and the percentvalue. Also displayed is the current target of the mob (probably the Tank, but you never know :] ).

What are those "modes"?
I've taken the Stance/Buffcheck of lolThreat in order to detect which role you are in.

If a defensive stance or buff is detected, "Tank Mode" will be activated. In Tank Mode there is a second bar, showing the threat of the partymember, who's nearest to your threat. (examplepicture is on the right)

If you target an party/raidmember, and you have threat,"Heal Mode" displays your threat towards the mob targetted by the target you have, like a Tank.

Else it would use "Damage Mode", which is the simplest of all, and just shows your threat.

Upcoming features:
-Support for Raids on "Tank Mode"

Config:
The configuration is on top of the threat.lua file. Inexperienced users should read:
PosX and PosY are variables for the X and Y axis, the "Base Point" (0/0) is the middle of the screen.
height and width should be self explainable =)
texture is for the statusbar-texture-path
barcolor and secbar are variables for the colors of the statusbars ->
local barcolor = {r, g, b} Valid are values from 0 to 1
show_modetext can be true or false

1.1.1
*Never upload without testing :P

1.1
*Modetext is now optional

Well you could, but i think it's easier to just dl that one or something similar. ^^

I was wondering why I didn't have a border.
Haha, thanks, i didn't notice at all, anyways i kinda like it without the border, but feel free to mess around with one ;>

Originally posted by boomboom Wonderful, wonderful mod. Just fantastic. One quick question though, is there a way to take away the "Damage, Healing Tanking" text? I find it slightly obtrusive, given my current UI style. If there isn't it's no biggie, just wondering if I can. Thanks!
Go through threat.lua in the bar4text folder and add "-- " (minus quotes) before every line that contains the word "modetxt", that will remove the line.

So "modetxt:SetText("Tank Mode")" would become "-- modetxt:SetText("Tank Mode")".

i didnt say i didnt know how to do it, just it would be far easier to be able to do it ingame.i am happy lolzen picked up on this.

tho i am not a fan of editing configs in a .lua file i, and i think most users of addons, are fully capable of doing just that. it is a questing of ease of use of an addon, for me, the one thing i ever ask of addon authors is to make at least moving around the ui elements an ingame option.
however, the more complex an addon gets in the course of time, the more configuration options will get available to it. at that point authors really should consider opting for writing the config in savedvariables. starting ones config from scratch every update of the addon (not this one in particular, but addons that read their config out of the main files in the addons folder) without savedvariables is just -very- unpractical.

sorry for a larger post than intended, bar4threat is a very nice addon and i'll keep using it. these are just my thoughts on how a addon configuration is easiest from a users perspective.

I look foward to it!

edit
I was curious, as to if there is a way I can 'test' so I can move it around ingame without having to gain threat of something to move it around?
What I meant was, can I show testing in the Lua so I can see where I'm moving it is what I meant

If that is true, why am I seeing the bar when solo on a Rogue? Did I inadvertently turn on an option to do so, or is something else not right?

I agree.

Is the bar seen when solo, or only when in a party?
The bar is only shown if you are either in a party or a raid, or have an pet (warlock, hunter). In my oppinion it is unnecessary to see you're at full threat if no one else is gathering threat, than you^^

This looks like an awesome little threat bar addon. Reminds me of iThreat with a couple more features.
TBH, iThreat gave me the idea for this ;>

No, there is no inGame config, as this addon was in the first place for myself :P
