WoW Manager contains several tools and information for World of Warcraft players in one place. It could be seen as an extended version of the Blizzard Launcher. It is still in development and will include the following features:
- RSS Newsfeed Reader (News and Armory Calendars)
- Bookmarks (Links to important and useful websites)
- Characters, Guild and Friend-Manager
- Realm Status Monitor (automatically monitors realms of your Chars, Guilds and Friends)
- Classinfo (Hints to improve your Chars)
- Screenshot Manager (convert, resize, upload... your Screenshots)
- Addon Compilation Creator (create Addon compilations for your Guild or Friends)
- Backup Tool (save your WoW and Addon Settings)
INSTALLATION: Extract the file and put the folder where you like. Then run "WoW Manager.exe".
PLEASE NOTE:
This is an extremely early preview version to test some basic operations and if the runtime engine runs well on all Windows versions (XP, Vista, 7).
Please report any bugs or error messages you find. You can use the buttons at the bottom of the application window. Thank you very much!
Working Features so far:
- Launch WoW or the Launcher
- Clear Creaturecache.wdb (used by addons to find rare mobs via cachescan)
- Post messages on Twitter (Tweet it! - basic implementation)
- Open facbook.com
Advanced Feature: Command Line Arguments
You can use "quicklaunch" to launch WoW or the Launcher (can be changed in the Settings screen) immediately after launching WoW Manager. If enabled the CreatureCache.wdb will be deleted before launching WoW.
Example for a new Shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\WoW Manager 2\WoW Manager.exe" quicklaunch

Looking at the addon info tab, you can't really tell what this addon is, what it really does, or why I would want to use it.

You can also run it in IDA and/or any Sandbox, Process Explorer like app to see if there is anything nasty inside. And if a experienced programmer wants your stuff they will get it, just take a look at Gary Mckinnon
To be sure, dl it, dont open it, send it to Kaperskys, Norton, Eset and any other big AV company and they will mail you back with any positive/negative results.

Executable files on WoWInterface are only allowed after extensive testing. I am also aware that they run it on a sandbox first as well.
Rest assured that any file here on WoWInterface is scanned and tested.

Don't worry
Wowinterface hosted my first applications a few years ago (I think my apps were the first .exe files hosted here) and is hosting several other tools containing applications for a while now.
They checked the files and sometimes want to see the entire code before the file gets approved. You can find some of them in the "Tools & Utilities" category. And the point of this is that you have many useful things regarding WoW in one place, like an extended version of Blizzards WoW Launcher. It does not have much features yet but more will be added soon.

I am not sure about this. Anyone who is anyone knows that .exes are bad mojo.
Its a neat idea, but Running some wierd program on my pc isnt on the top of my list. Honestly I am suprised this was allowed.. |

As with all "addons" that are not .lua-scripts that you run in-game, be extremely careful. Just because Wowinterface doesn't report this as a keylogger/virus/trojan/other malicious software doesn't mean it isn't.
