Re: Error with latest version
The error is one-time on a fresh installation and doesn't affect Archy functionality but the fix will be included in next release nonetheless. ![]()

Re: New Error? Character login, mouse swoop past button, BING!
You can stop posting errors now I think, the root of the error is the same now I just got to figure why out of thousands of users it only happens for you sofar. ![]() Keep an eye out for alphas on the development site, that's where new files will pop up as I work on this. |

New Question - click through?
I've got my archy window set to be completely transparent except for text, and across the top of my windows. This means that it overlays some of the buff buttons. I tried to dismount by clicking on my mount buff, and had to move the window out of the way. I know I can click on things in the window, which I expect means there's no way to be able to click through to things under it... would it be possible to have it *under* the buff buttons? or other UI elements? If you need a screen shot let me know.

still failing to update digsite list
I've got the new alpha installed, and just dug up in Kalimdor, Ruins of Ordil Aran. Digsite pane says 3/3, and hasn't updated to show the new one (which seems to be slitherblade shore, according to my world map).
Reloading the UI ends up with no digsites window displaying, and no digsites listed in tooltip. ETA: I just went into combat and the undocked survey button/distance ball suddenly showed up, but no digsite list.

Re: Question re processing
When entering the game or reloading the interface, if you had the Archy lists (digsites + artifacts) showing when you logged off, there's a good chance the survey button will not show. The way to bring it back is to just toggle Archy (left click the minimap button twice). (Or to hide Archy before logging off and show it again when you logon). I keep saying to myself that I should correct this but it's such a small inconvenience that I keep putting it off ![]() As to the expected behavior. The distance bubble should be fully visible and with a distance number showing when you've just done a survey so it can show you when you're in the 'green', 'yellow', 'red' distance. If it is docked then the bubble will show after a survey and hide after a dig. If it is undocked it will show after a survey but only 'fade' after the dig so you can click it to more the button around. |

On a completely different note...
FWIW, I don't have a middle mouse button (low end gamer is I). Not saying you should change it, just be aware that not everyone has higher end stuff. (or even middle-end stuff... most of my computer equipment is hand-me-downs and/or salvaged.) Also, control-left-clicking does nothing for me. I do expect this last is my issue - possibly not playing well with the fact that I have the mouse on the left, not the right. But figured I'd mention it, along with other things, in case this is something that is actually not my fault.
![]() Thanks for all your work! |

It occurs to me that it makes sense to keep general chat about things here, and only put stuff on wowace that is relevant to particular bugs - to keep things clean, so to speak.
I just tried going back on the toon that saw the problems. I now see things for both continents. As far as I recall, I didn't change anything, and the current changelog file claims 1.8.17. So o.O ... The only oddness is that I'm *not* standing in a digsite, and when I signed on there was no survey button (i've undocked it on this char, and it gets much bigger then! ) - but when I changed the interface/addons/config settings to NOT filter the tooltip to continent, suddenly the distanceball/button appeared even tho I'm still not standing in a digsite. Is this correct behavior? Or perhaps rather, which is the correct behavior, to have the button/ball showing whenever archy is showing, or to only see it when standing in a digsite? Turning filtering ON again didn't remove it. I hate intermittent bugs. ![]() |

The zip file with just the saved variables and the error message is enough. As to where to upload the zip with the SV you can either PM me on this site (don't think you can attach to comments here) OR comment and attach on the development site. I replied on your comment at the wowace ticket with instructions.

@Barleduq:
Can you tell me which dig site started the problem? (continent and zone if possible). It would also help me greatly if you could zip up and attach to the ticket on wowace (or PM me here if you prefer) \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<YourAccount>\SavedVariables\Archy.lua <- this file. This is a corrupt saved variables issue that I've come across in the past but I've had no cooperation from users in tracking down the source sofar. Usually as soon as I tell them how to solve their immediate issue they disappear without providing me with the data I need to reproduce and fix it ![]() __
