Broker: Whereabout

Version: v1.12
by: mojosdojo [More]

Broker: Whereabout is a small, but efficient LDB plugin to show your current zone, subzone and coordinates. It is inspired by yleaf's leafZone and Rilgamon's zz_Coords.

Features:

  • Basic LDB text + tooltip: Zone, subzone, coords; Colored according to zone PvP status.
  • Left-click to toggle map, shift-click to print the current whereabout to open chat editbox.
  • Localized for enUS and deDE clients (contact me if you can provide localized strings).
  • A few options to configurate via Lua.

Broker: Whereabout requires an LDB-based display addon, such as DockingStation, Bazooka, ChocolateBar, StatBlock, etc.

Comments, bug reports and critics go in the comments section on the project page or via PM.

Edit: I'm currently not playing, so I'm not able to implement new features. I will accept tested code though, if the request seems reasonable.

Sorry for not answering for so long, but I don't play anymore, so there will be no new features (expect someone wants to contribute ofc). I will fix bugs, though, and do the TOC updates for patches.

Edit: I looked through my code and realized that this is already possible You can influence the LDB output, tooltip will always stay the same. Just open core.lua and edit the first four lines, they are pretty self-explainable.

Feature request

I don't know if this is something you are interested in, but I would be very interested in having the option of limiting what shows up in the display. I installed this addon to replace zBrokerLocation when it broke in the recent patch, and I used that to replace the text that usually appeared over the map. The string with your addon is very very long and takes up a lot of space in my display. I'd like to see "Stormwind City" in the display, but still be able to see the coordinates and "Eastern Earthshrine" when I mouseover the plugin. I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for considering my request I am pleased to have a functioning replacement regardless of the changes. Great work!

This is great! I was looking for a more lightweight TravelAgent, since I don't use really any of its features, and this was a perfect replacement.

Thank you for this addon! Furthermore, thank you for coding in true/false toggles for Zone, Subzone, Co-ordinates and exact Co-ordinates.
