KuiNameplates  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2-4
by: Kesava [More]

Prettier nameplates with auras.
Configurable through interface options (/knp or /kuinameplates).

Notable features
  • Pixel perfect!
  • Auras!
  • Combo points and other class powers!
  • Tank mode!
  • Pretty fading in/out of frames (disable by unchecking "Smoothly fade" in options)
  • Other things!

I have a problem/question!

More up to date versions can often be found on Curse. Please try using that version before reporting a bug.

If you have any issues, feel free to PM me, post it in the comments on Curse, or on GitHub (but check through that list to make sure it's not already there, first). I don't get any sort of notification for comments posted on WoWI, so that might not be the best option.

Friendly NPC names

Hi

I have enabled friendly NPC names using this addon, its ace, the friendly NPC's are in green, is there any way to change the colour of text for these NPCs?

Also players name plates do not have their guild on screen listed, can this be added too?

i love this, anyway.
I came here looking for the same thing, was using Tidyplates just switched to Kui, missing this feature
Thanks for this very nice add on. I was "Not prepared" now for legion "I seem prepared" finally being able to read player names in world of warcraft!*cough*

That being said I would also like to see this as an option including guild names or giving my guildies names a different color. Preferably out of combat.

Not showing

I know a lot of nameplates have been acting strange since 6.2.2 but I made a switch to kui since tidyplates stopped working all together even with the edited code string. However, I'm not seeing kui nameplates for mobs either. Is there something I'm missing when I downloaded the addon? I downloaded the most recent version too by they way.

You might just have the default interface option for it disabled. It's under ESC > Interface > Game (top left tab) > Combat. On the right side, make sure the option to show castbars on nameplates is checked.

I don't know why but that seems to be disabling itself for some people.

abbreviate name

Awesome nameplates! Just one question is there a way to abbreviate name like this Fiery Dragon Wolf to F. D. Wolf? I saw a post on mmo-champ with this

function(unit)
local name = UnitName(unit) or unit
name = name:gsub('(%S+) ',function(t) return t:sub(1,1)..'.' end)
return name
end

and i managed to get on elvui unitframes i tried doing same with kuinameplates but i suck at lua and tbh have no idea where to paste it.
Should i just paste that somewhere or is there some other way to do it?

Hello. Thanks for a great addon. Is there any options to hide nameplates for some mobs(via name), or make them transparent?

There's an elite/boss indicator on the level text. Of course if you have that disabled, you can't see it.

Still no elite or boss indicator

Also, would love for the target glow to be more prominent (the arrows are great but dont look good!).
