Chef's Hat
Note that there is a "Chef's Hat" addon on Curse, made by kunda:

This should have been made long time ago, what does it do? The most epic thing ever; makes sure that you put your Chef's Hat on before cooking! Too long have we suffered having to manually put it on and off, now you can let the addon do the work for you. All that is required is to use the default TradeSkill UI (or to use an addon that has added support for this addon).
In any case, you are welcome! Sorry that I had no pictures to show, it's not like there is much to it, when you mouse over the craft buttons it puts it on, when you close the window it puts on your original item.
Not guaranteed to work flawlessly, requires more testing on my end. Thus, do from time to time check that your head is on before doing a dungeon or raid! Theoretically tough it should work flawlessly, but you know how it is with theories.

I noticed after I published mine, actually I first made it for myself but decided to go public because (1) "Chef's Hat" is the item, no addon is named that, bazinga it's now mine (2) I guess more isn't as bad, considering addons do die out so more means more options when one does.
 Code wise the only difference is that my version depends on you being able to craft anything, so peaking at the tradeskill would not equip the hat, but mousing over the craft buttons while you can use them would for a second disable them, equip the hat, re-enable them when it's done and allow you to craft on from there onward. When the tradeskill frame is closed, only then would it return the original gear back on. I guess that sums up all the differences between our two addons, but on face value they do the same gig.
