Not everyone requires every option though. Sometimes its better to just have unit frames for the player and the target and let blizzards raid frames do the rest.

That's just me and Im old school. The simpler and less obtrusive an addon is, the better it is for me. Its like with the minimap. If you get sexymap, its a huge addon at 434 Kb - but if you get SquareMap its just 2 Kb. Why? Well because it uses near all the blizzards originality and just styles the map. And the lua is so easy to implement your own texture if you want. SexyMap uses MBs of memory where as SquareMap uses barely 10kb memory.

That's where you were with your 1st release of your UF addon. I fell in love with the simplistic aspect of it. I could build an entire UI that's was a third the size of your addon today using small, minimal and easy to style addons.
but low memory ~= speed in addon case
this just a cpu cycles, who cares about a memory with gigabytes of ram in current computers?

I really wish you would release a simplified version. I could care less about a GUI and would prefer config in the lua. I remember when you 1st came out with your UF addon, it was so light, so easy to work with and so little resources used.

Seems that if you turn Unit Frames off of the Target (which seems to just turn off the actual portrait of everything else), it basically blacks out the frame. I get no information from the Target unless I set the portrait to 1 for a Target.

Fantastic mod.
That trouble can be raised from using old wtf config (i was implemented new config). Try to clear wtf config for bUnitframes special or type in chat (in game) /run bUnitFramesDB = nil
and /reload
