AutoRun Reminder

Version: 2.7c
by: DegeRandolf [More]

AutoRun Reminder v2.7c

AutoRun Reminder puts an icon on the screen when AutoRun is toggled.

It doesn't toggle AutoRun for you, it just puts a reminder Icon on the screen to remind you.

If you press a movement key such as w, s, up or down arrow or both mouse buttons the reminder turns off.
If you have a movement key pressed and toggle AutoRun, the icon is displayed again.

The interface allows you to size and place the icon where you want on the screen.

Save options settings between logouts with the save button on the options menu.
To change settings for the current session, make your changes but don't click the Save Button. Close the menu with /aro options.
Revert settings back to saved settings using the close button.

Making a macro with the entry /aro options will allow you to toggle the options menu on and off.

To access the options GUI type /aro options

Other options are:
/aro off --> Turns AutoRun Reminder off so the icon won't show.
/aro on --> Turns AutoRun Reminder on so the icon will show.
/aro lock --> Locks the icon in it's current location.
/aro unlock --> Unlocks the icon so it can be moved.
/aro show --> Shows the icon.
/aro hide --> Hides the icon.
/aro flash --> Causes the icon to flash when toggled off.
/aro noflash --> Turns icon flash off.
/aro options --> Brings up the Options Menu. Toggling /aro options again saves the menu settings for the current session.
/aro --> Shows all the slash options.

If AutoRun Reminder is on during combat, it may get out of sync. Toggling autorun a couple of times will bring it back in sync.

Just place the AutoRun folder in the interface/addons directory.

AutoRun Reminder Change Log

v2.7b Fixed bug that stopped Icon from actually flashing.

v2.7a Cleaned up some minor code

v2.7 Changed the close button so it will reset options menu to saved settings.
Changed /aro options so if called again will retain current changes until logout or reloadui.
The save button will save settings between relog/reloadui.

V2.6 Added a close button to the Options Menu

V2.5 Changed method of flashing icon so toggling autorun won't get out of sync.

v2.4 Added an option to flash the icon when Autorun is toggled off.

V2.3 Show Button now toggles Show/Hide in all conditions.

v2.2 Fixed Show Button to toggle correctly between Hide and Show.
Did not change the Hide/Show button to toggle when toggling autorun but it will reset itself correctly.

V2.1 Initial release

Hope for all and your own sake that this just is a “first try in making an addon” – which is okay, keep it up and new ones coming, but this one, c’on – don’t touch anything and if you’re still running, then I guess AutoRun is active and therefor in my book no need for this at all and shouldn’t be uploaded, but hey, perhaps that’s just me and of course gratz for making an addon, that (I presume) works as intended and hope you’ve learnt a lot from making it and can use it in future makings and will come up with more and cooler ones – I gave up making addons a long time ago, so on that account you have made more than I have and don’t take this the wrong way, I just see this one as completely pointless.
Here is the reason for the existence of this addon: I found that when I was in certain situations such as a battleground or TB for instance, and I was running, I would want to look around to see what was happening around me. In the heat of the moment I wouldn't remember if I had toggled autorun on BEFORE or AFTER I had hit a movement key or both mouse keys. If you don't KNOW that information, when you try to look around with mouse look, you will stop moving if you are NOT in autorun. Stopping, if even for a moment, could be the difference between escaping or dying. This addon gives me a visual reminder (hence the name ) of which mode I am in and therefore a reminder of whether or not I need to toggle autorun before I look around. I hope that explains why I made it. After I made it, I thought perhaps other people had experienced the same situation so I thought I would share it.
