Perl Classic Unit Frames   Popular!
If you like this mod, please vote for it!

What is Perl Classic?
Perl Classic Unit Frames are a complete rewrite of the original mods by Perl. They replace the default Player, Pet, Target, Target of Target, Party, and Party Pet frames and add dedicated frames for many other units (Focus, Focus Target, Party Target, Target of Target of Target). It has been a high priority to maintain the look and feel or the original Perl mods while expanding functionality. The mod has been recoded for performance and is built around the Blizzard UI usage of events.

Q&A
-----

Q: I'm seeing double party buffs for some reason, what gives?
A: 99% of the time this is caused by CT_PartyBuffs. Simply remove the mod and you will return to having one set of party buffs.

Q: I am having massive dead spots for clicking on some of the unit frames, what's wrong?
A: This can be caused by a number of mods, but the most common seems to be CT_MovableParty. Please remove this mod as Perl can be moved without the use of this mod.

Q: The default party frames are showing up with red lightning bolts. What's going on?
A: As of version 1.503 of CT_RaidAssist this should no longer be caused by CTRA. The settings for this are now located in the WoW settings under Interface Options -> Basic -> Raid -> Hide Party Interface.

Q: Do you support ArcaneBar?
A: Yes, it is included in your download of Perl Classic.

Q: Will you be adding any features to Perl_PlayerBuff?
A: No, my coding for this mod goes as far as making sure it 'works.' If anyone would like to expand upon it, feel free to do so.

Q: Where are the raid frames?
A: As of 2.0 I no longer code raid frames for Perl Classic. Luckily, X-Perl's raid frames work great alongside Perl Classic. X-Perl's raid frames (and the unit frames themselves) can be found here: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3416/

Q: The scaling is all messed up! What do i do?
A: I recommend setting the scale to that of the UI if you are having issues. Open the options menu via "/perl" or the Black Pearl icon on the minimap and set the scale accordingly under the "All" tab.

Q: I am having an issue not listed in this FAQ, what can I do?
A: First, update *every* mod. I do not support ancient outdated and unmaintained mods. If you have double checked that everything is up to date, post on any of the Perl Classic mod pages and I'll be glad to help you narrow down the issue or give suggestions to help find a solution.

Q: Can you add this feature?
A: I'm sure it's possible, but the primary purpose of this mod is to 'modernize' the original Perl mod so that it doesn't slow your game down.

It means that it will be released, just not in the current version that everyone uses. I'm rewriting the mod from the ground up to make it not suck nearly as much on the coding side (so you know, I don't have to code 1 feature 7 times because I didn't know any better 3 years ago). So basically, it will be implemented, just not anytime soon. I'm sure I'll start putting out alpha releases of my other version soon, but it is missing *lots* of features at this point (but buff support is not one of them as odd as that is).

@zweeoop: I have a working form of the new power update system for the next version that will work quite a bit better than the tweaks you made. It should look just like the Blizzard version. Thanks for giving it an attempt though.

@Corgann: Any word on the error message?

@Gatsrew: Known issue. I need to figure out a way to handle this in 3.0 still. Hopefully I'll have some free time in the near future. Although in all honesty, it probably won't be until after I hit 80. Regarding the coloring of the borders, again, I'll need to take a look at what exactly changed here. At the very least, I'll try to get it to display curable colors first.

@random7: I believe what you are seeing is the CombatDisplay portion of the mod. Feel free to disable it or configure it as you see fit. No other part of Perl relies on it to run.

@Tahlik: Wait for the next version.

@Tatterotts: It's on my todo list, but no promises when you'll see it.

@blackwater: It sure did, and still does, but since 3.0, it's been having a mind of its own. Known bug though!

@GapY: Known issue. I still think this is a problem on Blizzard's end unless someone can show me unit frames that have this working correctly. Last time I tried Pitbull and agUF, they still had this issue as well.

I also noticed that besides "player" debuffs not showing that the "show only curable" party debuffs is also not working , setting it on/off doesn't matter it will show all debuffs on party curable and non-curable ones.

Also party pet frame gives me constant errors.

This is super important.

Ty all.
It's tainted, you will have to do /focus instead.

Didn't perl used to show curable debuffs for "player" frame?

I have it working for party frames but I see no way to show it on my player frame, any debuffs or curable ones.

Any chance you could toss the pvp flag timer into an update? Knowing blizz it's probably an insane amount of coding

I seem to recall party/self/friendly target frames highlighting the border red when inflicted with a curable disease. This feature is missed, as seeing the frame light up was an easy way to tell they needed dispelled, as opposed to using a dispelling addon. Also, if there could be a way to work in a pvp timer since the unit frames remove Blizz's default, that would be lovely. Thanks in advance.

double mana/hp bars

I noticed that when a mob targets me, i get a copy of my mana/hp bar that appears right below the mobs information. Is this the same one mentioned a few posts below? If so, you said it cannot be removed. Is there a way to resize it or shall i just try to push off the edge of the screen somewhere. It is very distracting to see this when my own mana/hp bar is only 2 inches away.

thx

Under the target options, the Class Only buffs doesn't seem to make a difference. I'd like to see the cooldowns on only the buffs I cast, I couldn't care less about everyone else's...it just makes my job harder looking through all of them. If this isn't want the function is supposed to do, then feel free to direct me to another addon that will in conjunction to perl. Thanks in advance.
