Squeenix is a simple square minimap addon. It does the basic bits, applies a new texture/mask to the minimap, hides a few of the default frames. As a small bonus it also enables the mousewheel as a means of zooming in or out.
Optional Files - Squeenix
Sorry, there are currently no optional files available.
Is there a way to bring up the tracking menu while the button is hidden? It'll be great for example right clicking the map causes the tracking menu to popup while left click does the usual map ping.
I just realized that I'd overwritten this download with some old ver. cached in WAU. Might be a good idea to remove that thing if you're not going to maintain that wowace repo anymore. Its a popular addon, and most people are not going to think of adding a .svn folder (much less know how to make one in Windows) to keep WAU from overwriting the current stuff.
Also, the links for info and comments on the Addon Info page are dead, well your WOWI portal is disabled, and there is no page for wiki.wowace. Now that I think about it, I didn't see Squeenix listed on your tekkub.net site.
Is there a way to move the default icons around the map (tracking, mail, bg queue etc.)? I'm pretty sure the answer is obvious, but I just can't get those things to move.

I really like your mod, but I have a little problem:
I use empty chat windows as background for my bars (Bartender3) and the minimap.
So I tried to put the minimap over one of this chat windows, but it disappers under it.
Is there a possibilty to raise the minimap layer (or lower the chat window's)?
Use Zomgbox. It very closely mimics the color scheme of the default chat background.
I personally use EEpanel at the moment. There is a host of others out there, viewport mods that is.

Originally posted by peterjhill (not original poster, but why I do) because sometimes I want to play the game full screen, and other times I want to be able to pull up a web browser.. for example, while flying from moonglade to Feralas. While waiting for a BG to queue.. I like to play full screen... but I probably switch three or four times in a play session between the two modes.. On a mac, I just use Command-M to switch.
The reason I asked was because in Windows, Windowed + Maximized lets you switch out quickly. At least on the windows side, I see no valid reason to ever use "Full Screen".
I wassn't aware that Macies were not able to use this... damn hippies.
Originally posted by Tekkub I'm going to assume you're using the version from wowace.... /squeenix reload
The real question is, why are you changing between windowed and fullscreen enough for this to be a problem... that should be a one-time setting :P

Interesting.
Macintosh client has Windowed and Maximized as well - both checkboxes.
• With neither checked it goes into a non-switchable fullscreen mode.
• With just Windowed checked it does what you'd expect - put WoW in a normal window.
• With both checked it reverts to the fullscreen non-switchable mode.
While in windowed mode cmd-Tab works just fine to bring other programs windows to the front, but not in either of the other two 'modes'.
I guess it's more of an issue for the Blizzard folks - I'll quit wasting your bandwidth.
Thanks for telling me about /squeenix reload.

Windows users get "Windowed" + "Maximized" that looks just like fullscreen, but doesn't take over the monitor so you can quickly alt-tab in and out. Honestly not sure why "full screen" is even an option.
Alt-tab still works in full screen, but it's slow because the game has to "give up" the monitor and Windows usually has to reposition all the windows due to the resolution change.
/squeenix reload? *
Err, no I have an Addon - ReloadUI - bound to a key and I press that rather than typing out "/console reloadui". if you're referring to the version of squeenix? It's the one off this page.
As to the switching, no it is not THAT often... I prefer fullscreen mode but sometimes I want to stay in-game and look something up real quick on thottbot or allakhazam.** The blacking out is not a deal breaker by any means, I use Squeenix and am happy with it. But, if while you're modifying the code you should come across a simple way to fix it, I'd be even happier.
Keep up the excellent work, I look forward to updates on several of your other mods. *cough*engravings*cough*
*Ok, I'm a little slow - I did some testing. Switched modes to cause the blackout then entered /squeenix reload. The background came back, and MUCH quicker than doing a full ui reload. That'll work.
** another belated thought - I don't know how the Windows WoW client works, but on a Mac you have to switch to windowed mode to interact with other programs. Perhaps on Windows the program switching keypresses still work?

When I change from windowed mode to fullscreen or back again the minimap turns black. My location and anything I'm tracking still shows up on the solid black field, but the terrain image is gone. A reloadui generally takes care of the issue, as does using the default minimap - but I really prefer the square one.
